    GARY BOWYER

Always enjoy listening to him on the radio. Very articulate and was an excellent manager for us during the boycott years. Successful last season in Scotland. I wonder whether his Nottingham connections will interest Notts County in considering him for their vacant manager's post?

RIP. One of the heroes of the 1971 raid on the jewellers in town. For those of us who remember that incident it still brings a host of bad memories.

    ELLIS SIMMS

Having a very impressive loan spell. I very much doubt that when he arrived in January, very few would have been expected to play as much as he has. Loan spells from a Prem club usually mean getting some vital experience in league football and a few appearances off the bench. But Madine's...

    MANAGERS

Three former Pool players are currently caretaker managers - Leam Richardson at Wigan, Danny Pugh at Port Vale & Simon Wiles with the Cods. Together with Evo, Wellens, Beech, Flynn, and Alex Dyer & Micky Mellon in Scotland that's quite an impressive record.
