No he didn’t, he’s just a residivist.Stop talking shit. Sadler didn’t have to appoint him.

Correct.nope, you're view is clearly tainted by bitterness.
He’s getting to be an expert in self flagellation.Give over.
Do you honestly think Sadler would appoint a manager who he didn’t feel comfortable with?
He obviously worships the ground upon which Critchley walks.
Nothing to do with being jilted, I’ve never liked him. I can’t deny his success first time round , but I never liked him. He has always looked a sly bugger to me and I was proven right. I know Sadler thinks the sun shines out of his arse and he pays the wages, so he can appoint who he likes. That doesn’t mean I have to like it, I also appreciate it doesn’t make any difference whether I like it or not. I will just have to accept it, but I will not change my view.Seems to me that people are afraid of changing their minds having spent a year slagging off Critchley like a jilted schoolgirl.
Looking for any excuse to keep the grudge going.
There's only one person looking like a schoolboy and it's not Sadler or Critchley. They seem like the adults to me.
Have a day offHe’s getting to be an expert in self flagellation.
I will thaksHave a day off
You’d probably prefer it if we failed full stop. You can get on with watching Fylde or some other pub team. We’ve beaten nobody yet, He’s from Bolton so I wouldn’t count my Chickens just yet.
You sound a bit touchy pal? You’d probably prefer it if we failed full stop. You can get on with watching Fylde or some other pub team.
Anyway just to reassure you, he’s signing for us next week.
Except you don't seem to be anywhere near accepting it.Nothing to do with being jilted, I’ve never liked him. I can’t deny his success first time round , but I never liked him. I have accepted the fact that he’s here, but as I said I don’t like it.Except you don't seem to be anywhere near accepting it.
If you read my last sentence in post#88 that’s exactly what I said.Albert whats your ** problem if you are are a seasider then support the club dont be negative.
Thats the funniest thing I have ever readExcept your opinion is not important the only one that matters is Critchley, as for Maxwell he will be sitting on the bench somewhere next season on a lot more money that he can earn at Blackpool at his age that was always going to happen.
Some will revel if it goes wrong, with numerous 'I told you so' posts. For some, that's more important than the team doing well. Why is it people get so high and mighty when people's views are different to theirs and they start acting like spoilt brats? I don't agree with Albert on this but he's entitled to his opinion, if fit, Norburn will be a great signing, if he signs of course. I didn't want Quitchley back, but it is what it is, I want him to do well and I want him to be supported by Sadler. I am skeptical, of course, but it's going to go one of two ways, success or failure and I will be exceedingly happy if w are successful and I will have plenty to say if we fail and are looking for another manager by Christmas. We all want success though.
Well then you need to improve your memory get out more it will come back to you.And never took one decent corner/free kick as I recall but we still persisted in using him.
It might be his level league one but I’m not convinced.
Lose Kenny and then have Trybull and Norburn out injured for long periodsBye bye Kenny
Critchleys opinion of Dougall vs your opinion of Dougall. So the only opinion that matters is Critchley’s then?
Is that the same Critchley that walked out on us by any chance?
He wasn’t very opinionated that day never even bothered to say goodbye.
Fans of clubs are for life not just till the next big pay packet comes knocking for a turncoat manager.
He really rated Maxwell but most posters on here, including the Critchley disciples, have slated him. Just because Critchley rates somebody it doesn’t make them any good. It’s all about opinions my boy.we
What a whopperSo the only opinion that matters is Critchley’s then?

Better than being aWhat a whopper
I think he struggled because most of the team did. Or maybe he just got to his level. One good ball in a full season, well worth his wage. As are his 9 yellows last season and the innumerable times he gave the ball away in dangerous areas. A liability get rid.
Most sensible people get your point… but you’re on AVFTT where sense and fairness and perspective are in short supply.Critchleys not a snake .
Happens everywhere in work places .
You work with someone every day for years they say they love it etc they then get a better offer leave and you don’t hear from them again.
Sometimes they say goodbye if you are lucky they thank you for being a great work mate .
Doesn’t mean they are a snake if they don’t though maybe just lacking in a bit of class that’s all.
Everyone leaves differently .
He’s not a snake .
If he d left to go to Preston he would have been a horrible little snake Judas traitor rat never to be forgiven .
But he didn’t .
We wouldn't have gone down. There would have been a semblance of structure in midfield and defence. We would have had more draws instead of defeats and a couple more wins in games we drew. IMOIf you think back how many of us really wanted him to go a year ago? Very few. I thought there was something wrong but more with the recruitment and behind the scenes stuff rather than his ability. I remember looking forward to a second season in the Championship with some really good signings to back him, but then he was gone. Had he stayed and and had the same transfer windows I still think we would have been relegated and he would have ben mightily cheesed off.
Sadler can't afford to fuck about this transfer window, he has to come up with the players Quitch wants. I didn't want us to go back and employ another ex manager but he was signed on nearly a 5 year deal just before he walked and that was the model the club wanted and we all wanted too. So, I don't think it's as bad as some are making out, in fact it could be really good but we can't have a transfer window like the previous 3. Norburn would be a good signing but there has to be concern around the ACL injury and we don't want another Stewart saga.
Correct we wouldn't have replaced Keogh with Williams not brought a bunch of kids in as loans and had a plan for every game.We wouldn't have gone down. There would have been a semblance of structure in midfield and defence. We would have had more draws instead of defeats and a couple more wins in games we drew. IMO
They promised they would sell him at the end of the season we bid for him first time, then he got injuredNot sure about this, Peterborough are selling for a reason.
I hope you aren’t counting me in that either. I don’t like Critchley as you know, I have made that perfectly clear. I have also said I will continue to support the team, as I always have. I have never on any post said I told you so, or it’s equivalent. I have never on any post gloated in our demise, ever. I always want tge team to do well. If Critchley emulates his previous success, I will be as happy as anyone, but I still won’t like him. Some will revel if it goes wrong, with numerous 'I told you so' posts. For some, that's more important than the team doing well.
I'm not counting you in that, by the way.
You say potato I say pottatoWe wouldn't have gone down. There would have been a semblance of structure in midfield and defence. We would have had more draws instead of defeats and a couple more wins in games we drew. IMO
He's exactly what we need and if he and Trybull stay fit we will have the best defensive midfield combo in the league, We have been crying out for experience, out squad was far too young last season and I hope the likes of Apter, Trusty, Holmes & Casy get a chance this season. We need more experience, not less. A Keogh type for the centre of defence and a seasoned striker as well as some young up and coming talent.Didn't really like the look of the signing when I heard as 1) A fee is involved for a 30 year old 2) He had injury problems
BUT
I'm honestly quite happy with it now that I've thought it over.
He is 30 and had a bad injury, but he seems to have completely gotten over that injury as he returned to P'Boro's XI in March and started every game til the Playoffs, he was quite instrumental in their run.
I would prefer for fees to go to younger players (as we'll get a sell on), but 30 isn't THAT old, he's definitely got 2/3 good years left (if not more), which is all that we will need from him if Promotion is our aim.
This really signals our intent, we are trying to win now by any means necessary.
We'd have to be 100% sure about his fitness. He's exactly what we need and if he and Trybull stay fit we will have the best defensive midfield combo in the league, We have been crying out for experience, out squad was far too young last season and I hope the likes of Apter, Trusty, Holmes & Casy get a chance this season. I hope they check his ears, if he has one bigger than the other, that’s it.We'd have to be 100% sure about his fitness.
Whilst all signings carry risk, we don't need to import existing risk.
I'm sorry, I just 'kenny' see where you're coming from on this. Whilst I can hold with some of what you say, I really don't think you can come to a decision - namely, on the question of whether to hold on to a particular player - based purely on the strength of how he performed last time we were competing in the division we now find ourselves in. Too much water has passed under the bridge since then. And regardless of whether he has been 'mismanaged and played out of position since Critch left' (to use your words), I feel almost obliged to say, for much of last season, he just looked, to draw on a rather apt choice of phrase, 'all at sea'.Don't understand the Kenny bashing at all. He was one of our best players in League One last time.
Mismanaged and played out of position since Critch left. He'll be solid again this year
'... recidivist ...'No he didn’t, he’s just a residivist.
Bloody predictive. Perhaps I meant he was residing on a visit.'... recidivist ...'
I'm just sorry for being such a tiresome bore, AR. I mean, for a host of reasons, we're all susceptible to putting material out containing the occasional error (some beyond our control, some not), but because I'm such a stickler-cum-pedant, whenever I spot something 'untoward', I just 'have' to raise it as a point of order. How effin sad is that?Bloody predictive. Perhaps I meant he was residing on a visit.
Bobby Doyle I thinkAnybody remember another major signing from Peterborough before the start of the 79/80 season?
Apart from his questionable toilet training, and his alleged reptilian traits, have you any other reason(s) for having such a strong dislike of the man/reptile? Cos I seriously think now's the time to get it off your chest...According to the Sadler/ Critchley interview he wasn’t his choice for obvious reasons. Sadler said and I quote I wanted anyone but Critch. If that was the case the obvious choice was Dobbie. So out of his own mouth he didn’t want Critchley, but he expects us to welcome him back with open arms and forget he shit on us ffom a great height. Sorry but not me and I suspect I’m not the only one. Having said that I will support the club as always but still think Critchley is a snake and will not trust him again.
