Blackpool v Hull City Official Matchnight Thread 15.12.20

Our best run of form has been with Madine and Yates upfront together, prior to that Yates on his own was running with bags of energy but we were ineffective in front of goal as we were on Saturday. Not sure where if any, the goals are going to come from tonight but hope I'm wrong!

33.11 Club Developed Players. Subject to Regulation 33.12 each Club shall be required to nominate at least one Club Developed Player on their Squad List on each occasion that it is due for submission, or on their Team Sheet of Players for all League Competition Matches (including Play Off Matches). Where any Club does not name a Club Developed Player on the Team Sheet, that Club will only be permitted to name up to six substitutes on that League Team Sheet (rather than the seven as permitted by Regulation 33.4).
Not sure how they get round this with that team sheet?

What's Critchley got against Madine & Yates playing together?
I think goals might be hard to come by again.
I agree with u , but strikers can’t score if the final ball isn’t right or players are not creating, think that’s why both Anderson and KiaKia are playing maybe

thrown me this one, maybe Alex Fojtíček counts as was playing under 19s when we signed him.

Are you talking in an attacking sense or that you just like the last six players named on the team sheet?
I mean the midfield of Robson Dougall and Keshi and then CJ Yates and Kaikai. However that 6 is made up, it's probably what I would say is my first choice.

I agree but before we bin him off back to Liverpool I would just like to see him play up alongside Yates as an out and out striker. We are overloaded with players who want to play the no.10 role or play wide.
I'd agree if he had goalscoring potential but unfortunately he hasn't. Also, he's very lightweight and has failed to make any impression since his arrival.

I really hope Yates isn't isolated again tonight like he was in early season. This worked against Pompey and I just hope it does again tonight.

Seems like Critchley is trying to prove his 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 works. It worked against Portsmouth however failed in early season.
I think all of us can see that 4-2-2 is a better formation in terms of goal scoring though but we aren't paid to make these decisions and Critchley is.
Let's just hope it works.

33.9 ‘Home Grown Player’ shall mean a Player who irrespective of his nationality or age, has been registered with:-

33.9.1 his current Club; and/or

33.9.2 a Club and/or any other football club affiliated to the Football Association or the Football Association of Wales,

for a period, continuous or not of three Seasons or 36 months prior to his 21 birthday (or the end of the Season during which he turns 21). For the purposes of this definition of Home Grown Player only, a Season will be deemed to commence for all Clubs on the same date as the date on which the Summer Transfer Window in that Season closes for Clubs in Leagues One and Two, and expire on the date of the final League Match of the Season.

Guessing it is Fojticek

Yeah I probably would in my ideal formation and way of playing football. But totally agree he has a place.
Nothing to suggest there's many goals in that midfield either. Yet we leave out a target man who has been pretty effective so far this season. Of course playing Madine does make it somewhat one dimensional and Critchleys intention could well be to hit them on the counter attack with pace. Hope it works. We'll soon see.

Yeah, I think it's safe to say we played lovely ineffective football at times on Saturday and at the start of the season. Yates, Kaikai and CJ need to start scoring.

When we are playing one of the best teams in the league, we need to be playing our best players in our best formation. Imo we aren't doing that tonight. I do really hope this works though.

Don't forget that rumoured bust up with Madine after the game on saturday. Has it played a part.

I felt we would win this if we played 4-4-2, but we will struggle if we play with a lone striker.

"AJ" is fast - but not as fast on the fastometer as the Harrogate full back was scared on the scaredometer the other week....

Whoooah! Billy Smart's Circus keeping there!! 🤣
