Blackpool v Accrington Stanley Official Matchnight Thread 13.04.21

A win tonight, I hope.
See the last 15 mins against Burton as nothing more than a blip against a team with some very good individual players.
Need to be a bit more ruthless though and not give them a sniff of a chance towards the end.

It's that point in the season you just have to do a wee hail mary and have a beer. UTP.

We're going to flow tonight. However calm and reflective NC was about it, things will have been said after Lincoln, and the team will be sent out tonight with a bit extra oommph. 4-0.

The Guessing Oracle has spoken.

Turton is on the bench for me mate. Robson isn't as good as Dougall but at what point is Dougall rested, it's called rotation.
We have played 4 2 3 1 plenty of times since the second half of Burton at home. The players are very familiar with it. We have played plenty of games without a front two.
Don't really understand any of the points you are making, nothing I have suggested is new to the team or football in general.
Just asking. You said you'd play Turton at left back, drop Dougall and play with one striker. I'm just pointing out that Turton doesn't play on the left. Why would we leave out a left back and dead ball specialist to play a right back in his position? You also suggested we leave out Dougall for Robson. IMO Dougall and Yates are the main reason we're in fourth place. And why do you think we should play with a single striker at home? Yes we have played with one striker but not effectively.

A couple of unwanted stats we need to eradicate.....we have dropped 17 points from winning positions so far this season....we have conceded 12 goals in the last 15 minutes of games.
instead late on of trying to protect our lead...we need to go for the jugular like we did so well against Gillingham...if we seriously want to finish the season on a high...we have to play out the last 15 mins more professionally.

I don't know what you can't see but maybe you need to read my post again, I said nothing about playing Turton at left back, the rest was about rotation and countering Accrington for numbers in midfield which comes down to opinion. In a normal season I would always start Garbutt and Dougall. As for one up front it works well if the attacking midfield 3 support and Critchley has played it on numerous occasions so maybe you should have a go at him.
As for Turton read my post again!

Some things have really bemused me about behind closed doors football this season but none more so than a stadium announcer reading a eulogy before a minutes silence.
