On now.
Helping the poorest in society? This lot?Unsurprisingly state pension going up with inflation, nice bonus for most that don't need it. Maybe increasing pension credit alongside other means tested benefits would have fit the fairness mandate. That wouldn't have been vote winning though.
That was always going to happen at some point whatever party is in charge when your trying to rid new bought petrol cars from 2030.Car tax on electric vehicles. Only from 2025 though.
Benefits going up by inflation too. Not sure on pension credit. Technically not a benefit.Unsurprisingly state pension going up with inflation, nice bonus for most that don't need it. The whole thing stinks.Capital gains allowance slashed and company dividends. Not good for SME owners or tradesmen.
Emigrate. No point staying and being pathologically miserable. You won’t be missed anyway. Bye bye.I notice that a few of the measures are pushed back to 2025.
Handing a shit sandwich to the next administration.
£16 a week pension windfall? I get windfalls bigger than that from my Tesco ClubcardYep small businesses take a kicking whilst asset rich pensioners get a windfall
Spot on, totally agree.Apart from the disabled I would pay 6 months money on benefits and then food vouchers after that, that cannot be spent on fags, booze, holidays or Sky.
I'm trying to fathom you out, (well, your avftt characerture anyway ). Are you Ebenezer Scrooge or Wilkins Micawber? The whole thing stinks.
Triple lock on pensions should be abolished or at best means tested.
10% on benefits while offering 5% to nurses - stunning!

Yes we need to support people but it mustn’t be to easy (with the exception of people who have genuine disabilities where I would increase payments dramatically).
The UK is broke and this doesn’t fix it.
It punishes hard working people far to much, especially people with SMEs who are trying to get by.
A large part of the country needs to get back to work and I don’t see how this budget encourages that.
Just someone who has worked very hard all his life until I retired.I'm trying to fathom you out, (well, your avftt characerture anyway ). Are you Ebenezer Scrooge or Wilkins Micawber?
2% offer to those administering the benefits, despite a good proportion of those actually able to claim Universal Credit. The whole thing stinks.

Current unemployment level is 3%, to give some perspective.Just someone who has worked very hard all his life until I retired.
I hate people who just take and have the ability to give back.
The UK is in trouble because there are to many lazy good for nothing sucking the state dry scum - they just take the p1ss all the time.
If they can, and can’t be arsed to work - why in hell should we subsidise them???
You say the UK is broke, yet the same Government has been in power for 12 years, things have got steadily worse, and we have people on here defending them to the hilt, saying its not their fault, it's world economics, the EU, or Jeremy Corbyn. The whole thing stinks.

I’m getting madder and madder reading this thread!!2% offer to those administering the benefits, despite a good proportion of those actually able to claim Universal Credit.
…yep and loads of jobs available.Current unemployment level is 3%, to give some perspective.
A 2% payrise in the current climate on top of a decade of pay freezes is an insult and reflects the contempt this Government has for the public sector.I’m getting madder and madder reading this thread!!
I respect anyone who can work and does work, I do not respect people who can work and do not.
The level of their position is irrelevant, it’s about their personal pride in doing that job to the best of their ability.
This shower are terrible and I fear the next GE.You say the UK is broke, yet the same Government has been in power for 12 years, things have got steadily worse, and we have people on here defending them to the hilt, saying its not their fault, it's world economics, the EU, or Jeremy Corbyn.
That's the point though£16 a week pension windfall? I get windfalls bigger than that from my Tesco Clubcard
My mate is in Unison and they've accepted £1,925 across the board, which averages 7%, 10.5% to the lowest earners. It's still not really enough but it's a lot better than the pay freezes and 1% rises when I was in Unison. What's the offer to Civil Servants?A 2% payrise in the current climate on top of a decade of pay freezes is an insult and reflects the contempt this Government has for the public sector.
RevolutionThis shower are terrible and I fear the next GE.
I don’t think any of the parties are fit for power, which is some bit of an issue!

Is that for 2022 or 2023?
HM Gov simply don't have the ability to means test anything, which is mind boggling really. This applies to pensions, prescriptions, bus/train passes etc.
Yes how hard can it be. They have all the information already surely?
July 22 to end of June 23Is that for 2022 or 2023?
2022. Not settled from July. No offer at all for 2023.Is that for 2022 or 2023?
Are they based on the previous September's inflation rate? i.e the 2022 offer is based on Sept 2021 inflation?2022. Not settled from July. No offer at all for 2023.
They have the ability, but in the case of pensioners, won't do because they'll lose a key demographic.HM Gov simply don't have the ability to means test anything, which is mind boggling really. This applies to pensions, prescriptions, bus/train asses etc.
We all know wealthy pensioners. One of our neighbours are both on pensions, own a 2nd a house in Spain where they've been for the last 6 weeks, 2 cars (she doesn't drive) no mortgage etc. The other are both on pensions, he works as a cash in hand painter/decorator no mortgage etc.
Our daughter & her husband both work & just about manage (JAM's) with our grandson - they get no help from anyone but us.
The current system simply isn't fair to hard working young people.
I don’t think they consider inflation anymore Rusty like they did years ago. It won’t increase for 2023 that’s for sure. Are they based on the previous September's inflation rate? i.e the 2022 offer is based on Sept 2021 inflation?
Not at all. Imposed settlement that has nothing to do with inflation. Are they based on the previous September's inflation rate? i.e the 2022 offer is based on Sept 2021 inflation?
Be careful what you wish forAn idea ,why dont all you knowledgeable people on avftt make up a party named avftt party I'm sure you'd walk it.
Those who you describe are a very small percentage of the population. You would feel better if you believed that the majority of the population are trying to live well and contribute. Even those on benefits. Until then you seem to have a hatred that needn't exist.Just someone who has worked very hard all his life until I retired.
I hate people who just take and have the ability to give back.

And how much tax do you pay in the UK?Just someone who has worked very hard all his life until I retired.

Not sure how you contribute if you are perfectly able and are on benefits??Those who you describe are a very small percentage of the population. You would feel better if you believed that the majority of the population are trying to live well and fo contribute. Even those on benefits. Until then you seem to have a hatred that needn't exist.
I still think you're a decent Cove btw.
I wonder why they are wealthy pensioners? Maybe because they worked hard?HM Gov simply don't have the ability to means test anything, which is mind boggling really. This applies to pensions, prescriptions, bus/train asses etc.

I’ve paid millions over the yearsAnd how much tax do you pay in the UK?
Because they bought a house 50 years ago for £500 and now it's worth £750,000, or better still, inherited it so didn't have the outlay?I wonder why they are wealthy pensioners? Maybe because they worked hard?
I'll give you time. You need to ween yourself off this hatred. It's not neccessary. Not sure how you contribute if you are perfectly able and are on benefits??
We spend around £220 billion a year on welfare and we have just put it up by 10% - we simply cannot afford it.
For me if you are a shirker and avoiding work, it should be made so he’s for you, it becomes a necessity for you to work.
Also, having kids shouldn’t be a route into benefit financial security.
If you want kids - PAY FOR THEM!!!!
It’s also not hatred, it’s a frustration with people taking the p1ss.
Ps not sure what a cove is?
There is more bs in you reply than I can believe.I'll give you time. You need to when yourself off this hatred. It's not neccessary.
A State that helps all citizens with their first two children is a good State.
We can afford the welfare State. It's something this country is rightly proud of.
Having hang ups about 'people who take the piss' is a sign of insecurity. It's not healthy.
Enjoy your life and don't pick on those who are less fortunate.
Really?Because they bought a house 50 years ago for £500 and now it's worth £750,000, or better still, inherited it so didn't have the outlay?
