That's quite a significant fee for a 30 year old. You're not ever going to be able to sell him on and recoup any of that money.Should be completed next week - fee is around £350k I’m surprised that we’ve beaten Bolton to his signature.
Experience and leadership. So what does this guy bring to the party ?
Yeah true. I have no problem with occasionally diverting from "the model" - look where that's landed us. We have made profits on Bowler, Critch etc. (and probably Yates soon) so spending some of it on an experienced player we think can help get us promoted is a good idea. That's quite a significant fee for a 30 year old. Yes because the player wants to leave, and has done for a while. He had to be persuaded to stay by their owner last time we were interested. Not sure about this, Peterborough are selling for a reason.
All Peterborough’s players entering last year was put on the transfer list and Norburn won’t sign a new deal anyway as he’s wanted to move back this end for the past few years. Not sure about this, Peterborough are selling for a reason.
I agree. It's also an investment with the goal being promotion because you aren't getting any return from a future sale of the player. Sadler needs to be praised for that if this happens. That is something that some on this board seem extremely unwilling to do for some unknown reason.Yeah true. Interesting. We were linked with Baccus as well but it's seemed like agent talk more than anything.Visiting Bolton fan. We are deep in to talks to sign an Aussie international midfielder from St Mirren called Keanu Baccus, 23 years old. Reported to be costing a decent six figure fee. Speculation is that Norburn is/was the option if that deal doesn't work out. Norburn is Bolton born so there may be some two plus two = five going on in all this gossip. All along its felt like Peterborough are driving the speculation to get a decent fee for him.
Anyway we'll see what turns out.
Yes we've also been linked with Baccus, but to be honest what we need is experience in my opinion so it wouldn't surprise me if we've made Norburn our priority. Especially as we tried to sign him in the championship too when Critchley was in his first stint as manager.Visiting Bolton fan. Because he's asked to move back North, we were due to sign him before but he got injuredNot sure about this, Peterborough are selling for a reason.
He has wanted to leave for a while to return up north to be near his family. Very highly thought off by Posh fans and their ownership/management so they agreed if he did one more season they would facilitate a move. He was coming to us in Jan 22 for £800 then did his ACL - returned in Feb ( I think) and was great till the end of the seasonYes because the player wants to leave, and has done for a while. No it isn’t.That's quite a significant fee for a 30 year old. You're not ever going to be able to sell him on and recoup any of that money.
We’ve been after Norburn for a couple of seasons. ACL put paid to that.Visiting Bolton fan. Dougall has had his day.Whilst I think he'd be a great signing, would it open the door for one of Dougall or Trybull to leave?
3 x defensive, 30ish year old midfielders wouldn't all play together, surely.
Bye bye KennyWhilst I think he'd be a great signing, would it open the door for one of Dougall or Trybull to leave?

Yeah, if they see it as someone who helps guide us to promotion then the money is well worth it.That's quite a significant fee for a 30 year old. You're not ever going to be able to sell him on and recoup any of that money.
We’ve beaten nobody yet, He’s from Bolton so I wouldn’t count my Chickens just yet.Should be completed next week - fee is around £350k I’m surprised that we’ve beaten Bolton to his signature.
Wants to return to the North and in last year of his contractNot sure about this, Peterborough are selling for a reason.

Agree, but then again you can very quickly waste that sort of money on wages for 2 or 3 duffer free transfers. That's quite a significant fee for a 30 year old. You're not ever going to be able to sell him on and recoup any of that money.
Likes to break up play and get moves started. So what does this guy bring to the party ?
Bobby Doyle ?Anybody remember another major signing from Peterborough before the start of the 79/80 season?
Yep….Bobby Doyle ?
Sadly passed away in 2019Yep….
should have been £800kDefinitely worth a punt for 800 quid Daz
Bye bye Kenny
Kenny is still a good playe.Dougall has had his day.
Spot on Stu. Kenny is a proven good player.Don't understand the Kenny bashing at all. He was one of our best players in League One last time.
Mismanaged and played out of position since Critch left. He'll be solid again this year
