Not related to his prostrate.
Not good at all.Same news breaking on the BBC1 news now, never good especially at an older age
Why the cheap dig?I wish him well as I would anybody suffering from it. Bet he didn’t have to wait on an NHS waiting list though.
Bad news for anyone, there but for the grace of god go IWhy the cheap dig?
I've had family members with cancer the NHS and hospices have been absolutely bloody brilliant.
With Netflix or similar in tow no doubt! Not good at all. I see Harry is coming over to be with him.
Can you explain further as the NHS is free?On North West tonight. A man having to lose his home to afford treatment. Charles won't have to do this.
It’s all do do with a new cancer drug which the NHS cannot fund due to the extreme costs reportedly to be £120,000 (£40,000 per session and he needs at least 3) according to the bbc news. Can you explain further as the NHS is free?
I am not doubting you - but curious to the circumstance.
Not good for anyone - I suppose the question is - ‘What does the drug offer?’ - does it increase life expectancy for a day or offer a cure? It’s all do do with a new cancer drug which the NHS cannot fund due to the extreme costs reportedly to be £120,000 (£40,000 per session and he needs at least 3) according to the bbc news.
Hardly a comparison to general NHS treatment.
I don't think it is a cheap dig. My mother in law has been housebound for 2 months waiting for an x-ray on her hip. Then no doubt another few months while a space becomes available for treatment. Why the cheap dig?

There are plenty of treatments that the NHS can't fund. Especially these days. Can you explain further as the NHS is free?

Why do you love an organisation that is not treating your family well?I don't think it is a cheap dig. My mother in law has been housebound for 2 months waiting for an x-ray on her hip. Then no doubt another few months while a space becomes available for treatment.
I love the NHS and am furious about the way it's a political football while patients are caught in the cross fire.
We’ve also had brushes with cancer & received really good treatment. I posted that comment after hearing it on a recurring loop on the 6 o’clock news. They reported it, then repeated it again then dug up Nickolas Witchell to repeat it again. You’d have been forgiven if you thought nothing else had happened today. Why the cheap dig?

Because the alternative is so much worse, and it's not the fault of the organisation its being deliberately starved of funds in order to 'encourage' privatisation. Why do you love an organisation that is not treating your family well?
Exactly. Not good for anyone - I suppose the question is - ‘What does the drug offer?’ - does it increase life expectancy for a day or offer a cure?
God knows where the balance between the two is!!!
It isn’t just about funding though - it’s about how it is run and the money it wastes!Because the alternative is so much worse, and it's not the fault of the organisation its being deliberately starved of funds in order to 'encourage' privatisation.
By going private she'd almost certainly see the same consultant with his different hat on, but would have to fork out around £1,000 for the xray and possibly £15,000 for the treatment.
Its not what she wants to spend at 85, but its a bit of a rock and hard place in that she is becoming far less independent and may cost the NHS far more if she has to go into care, as well as possibly having to sell her home to pay for it.
Stupid commentI wish him well as I would anybody suffering from it. Bet he didn’t have to wait on an NHS waiting list though.
Starved of funds…..do you have all the relevant financial stats to hand? Its notoriously inefficient WizBecause the alternative is so much worse, and it's not the fault of the organisation its being deliberately starved of funds in order to 'encourage' privatisation.

Relevant though.Stupid comment
It's a rare form of eye cancer, the treatment for which is approved by NICE but which is not available on the NHS.Can you explain further as the NHS is free?
I am not doubting you - but curious to the circumstance.
Covid??Are you saying that this Government are doing all they can to fund the NHS? This must be pure coincidence.View attachment 18279
And their previous stint, and the 10 years before Covid?Covid??
Could explain last graph?
Another cheap digWith Netflix or similar in tow no doubt!

It is the King, Head of State and despite views on here and some members of the public, he is a highly respected figure in the World. We’ve also had brushes with cancer & received really good treatment. A population who don’t take responsibility for their own health and well being…..drugs & alcholisim……very debatable whether it’s underfunded or badly mismanaged. High level of ‘foreign tourists’ (trying to be polite )…is also a big drain. Eg….the floating barge housing the illegal immigrants has a full time doctor and dentist on board. That won’t come cheap. And their previous stint, and the 10 years before Covid?
Yes, I kind of thought that the prostate announcement recently was a kind of softening up of the public before this announcement. And as you have said, if it was an early stage treatable cancer (skin cancer for instance) would we even know about it? I doubt it. Some speculation that it has been caught early, Sunak mentioned this today.Found in a prostate exam could point to the bladder which can be really serious, much more so than prostate, but it could be anything.
They're basically saying it's very serious without actually stating it, Harry coming to visit isn't a great sign.
All speculation though.
Republican??Yes, I kind of thought that the prostate announcement recently was a kind of softening up of the public before this announcement. I am a republican but I still feel sad to hear this and hope that he recovers. He has waited a lifetime for this moment and now this. Life is so fragile and unpredictable.
I wouldn't say so but as a King he's a bit meh.Bell end
Same here, no time for the Royals but as far as they go he seems like a decent fella with genuine concerns.Yes, I kind of thought that the prostate announcement recently was a kind of softening up of the public before this announcement. It’s just made up nonsense BUT by your rationale Labour will have it all under control soon after the GEAre you saying that this Government are doing all they can to fund the NHS? This must be pure coincidence.View attachment 18279
Read the graph properly, man. It took Labour 12 years to get NHS waiting lists down to under half that they inherited from the Major Conservative govt in 1997.It’s just made up nonsense BUT by your rationale Labour will have it all under control soon after the GE
Made up nonsense? ONS stats. It’s just made up nonsense BUT by your rationale Labour will have it all under control soon after the GE
It's being starved of funds because of too many wasters at the top of the tree.Because the alternative is so much worse, and it's not the fault of the organisation its being deliberately starved of funds in order to 'encourage' privatisation.

So the Labour Party can just trot that line out for 5 years?……is that how it works?Read the graph properly, man. It took Labour 12 years to get NHS waiting lists down to under half that they inherited from the Major Conservative govt in 1997.
That's not going to happen within a few months. We are a much poorer country than we were then, due to the last 14 years of planned austerity with cuts to all public services and the economic downturn.
Labour will sort it out then by your rationale so you won’t have anything to worry about soonMade up nonsense? ONS stats.
