That’s interesting actually and I think something I’ve forgotten.My understanding is that any player who was contracted before the 6th August 2020 does not count towards the salary cap. Hence why players were mainly signed early in the window AND for long contracts. After the Oyston years it is very hard to fathom that we have a strategic thinking management team who have mitigated the impact of salary capping as much as possible. Puts is in a strong position compared to most other teams.
I can see Robson staying then as he wouldn’t count against it as he signed on the 6th, or would that make him count? He most likely signed the day before so wouldn’t count. Williams being released, Sarkic moves out on loan and possibly not taking Wards option of another year.
