Seasiders together

I can’t see this as anything other than ‘ticking boxes’ for EFL reviews in due course.

I don’t believe in ‘supporters groups’ - there’s no point/need unless it’s purely social, and/or a source of sharing travel costs to games for exiles.

Hands up - I’m not currently able to go to Bloomfield Rd (I desperately wish I were), but I do what I can in terms of merch & TTV etc, but I don’t feel the need to join some sort of group that fits my demographic in order to ‘be represented’.

It is what it is - like many others I try to do what I can, when I can, without feeling the need for a pat on the head from teacher & a free bowl of Pringles.

Personally I think it’s a step forward in controlling the greed league and dodgy owners.

Time will tell.

If you don’t agree, fair enough 👍
How can someone control multimillionaire owners

I also don't really understand the greed league comments

Wouldn't you like Blackpool to be in the Premier League?

Of course I would - but I want the money distribution to be fairer throughout football.

It's a results business though the higher up the league you go the more money you get

That's right isn't it?

I also don't understand all the ffp stuff either as all that does is stop smaller clubs breaking into the elite and keeping them small

You can't have it both ways

It sounds to me like you want hand outs to the smaller clubs whilst keeping them small

That's what the FSA wants as well it appears

If that’s what you think - fair enough 👍

More just needs to be shared though 👍

Is this a joke, its not even April 1st yet

This new charter looks like the biggest bunch of woke nonsense I've ever seen

You can tell this has been put together with a load of input from the SLO and the FSA mob

Loads of different groups and panels all in tiers with different levels of importance, just how is that 'Seasiders Together'

Its actually the opposite

The fan panel of handpicked fans sounds more like a wokey box ticking exercise to me, why should someone be on a panel because of the colour of their skin, sexual preference or freaky demographic

Surely it should just be the best people

Then we have the recognised fan groups based on a set criteria from the club this will be in two tiers so bizarrely will mean that some groups have more importance than others so kinda goes against the Seasiders Together catchy strap line

Then last but not least we have the Stakeholder Panel with invited guests of VIPs, aren't all fans Stakeholders?

All seems to me like the club will he hand picking folk to tow the party line whilst ticking several demographic boxes at the same time

Right load of bullshit this

Supporter Charter ffs....

It's a football club not a cobra meeting or a government cabinet re shuffle

How about concentrating on getting us out of this division and following up on the training ground promises Mr Sadler
I agree with every single point. Most of this I had in
my head before I read this. I’m a season ticket holder and a member of BST. I’ll stay a ST holder but my BST membership will now lapse. I don’t want to be involved.

Is this what Julian our CEO has been dreaming up the past few months. Fcuk off Julian.

I want to go to a game. Be informed by the gazette what the latest news is then make up my own mind whether it’s good or bad news.

Football is a simple game so we are told.

Unless you are a board member at BFC.

Stuff like that this drives me mad, and sums up a lot of what’s wrong with the world. Must admit I haven’t actually read it so stand to be corrected, but based on Phil and a few others interpretation it’s exactly what I expected.
There are legions of people obsessed with ticking boxes and being seen to do the right thing. And these idiots wouldn’t know where to start if you invited them to a conversation about real social issues (many of which affect our town)
Why not actually do the right thing? Why not be truly inclusive and democratic (as in best people for the job, voted for by their peers)?
Done properly I’d actually like to engage with something like this, but I’d be prepared to make a large wager there’ll be no dissenting voices at the tea and biscuits afternoon. A massive missed opportunity, but probably exactly what the club want.
Back to caring about match day and transfers (and hopefully a new training ground)
I stopped at 'haven't actually read it..' Sums up the blinkers views here.

So, which demographic have I to score you under?

BST do good things. You aren't required to be active or to stand for any demographic. But, I'm sure your membership is appreciated. Being a member is helpful and something you shouldn't be judged on.

Messiah Sadler is investing multiple millions every season according to some. Bowler, Yates & Critchley money banked. Where is the evidence of this investment?

I think that the fanbase is a bit divided but probably not as badly as we sometimes make out.

I'm just not sure what the answer is when it comes to fan engagement. Like many, I long for the days when we got our information from The Gazette and match day programmes and didn't want for anything more.
Ah, but then t'internet came along and with it the ability to talk bollocks to lots of people in a few poorly constructed sentences. The power of the ignorant....wonderful stuff.

Have you been in the ground? Have you noticed the roof isn't collapsing or missing bits? That the paintwork isn't rusty?

That the pitch is more than a mudheap?

That the Community Trust is doing great work across the town?

That the training ground has been completely rebuilt to be fit for purpose and not a Centre of Excellance (sic)

That even the critics say we have one of the biggest budgets in the League?

The bottom line is that he inherited a husk of a club which had to be brought back to life, then faced 2 years of nil income due to Covid, but still with the full overheads.

It doesn't take a forensic accountant to see where the investment is.

In the Wokey box of dicks we trust....... NOT!! 😂

It's utter bollocks Phil, it really is.

I must admit I haven’t read it either but it seems to have wound up all the right people so I’m all for it 👍

He’s not started yet but apparently it’s a failure

Edit to add - I do hope the independent regulator is a lady. It’d be like a breath of fresh air.
You miss the point again and have obviously not read the thread properly or the understood the context of my post

Yet you feel the need to but in when my comment was direct at SeasideOne

It probably will be a female to tick another box

Surely you should want the best person for the job

After all its such an important role that is going to re invent football ownership and governance

Maybe give it Eni Aluko

Eni is a good shout 👍

Although after careful reflection I’d prefer the appointment to go to a lady with a winkle.

I just googled "fans charter in football".
I only looked at the first page and there are hits for lots of Clubs.
I've not opened any of them but I suspect you'll probably find they are all fairly simlar. I'm quite happy for someone to research them and tell me something different.
I applaud the supporters of BFC who have put the unpaid time and effort into helping to put this in place for our club. It appears we have to have one.
Unfortunately I cant get excited about it but nor can I get upset about it.

I don't really get the outrage to be honest - if its aim is to be more inclusive and get more people through the gates and feel more connected to the club, then crack on.

I haven't even read it tbh and it's not something that is going to affect my match-going experience in any way whatsoever. A bit like @Insider says; I won't get excited about it or upset about it.

I think that the fanbase is a bit divided but probably not as badly as we sometimes make out.

It's a few hundred (if that) fans on here and social media tbh; majority will pay their money, watch their football and talk about the actual relative football stuff.

Surely in this day and age anyone can just identify as any category they like?
I'm identifying as supporter of a consistent, entertaining and successful football team who are always taking risks on their young talent and playing heart on the sleeve blood and thunder football.

If we identify as a promotion winning side, it would save a lot of fuss and bother wouldn't it?

I've heard that the club intends to play The Frog Chorus at the beginning and end of each of these very many fan meetings that they will be having next season.
