RHODES STAYING

Really pleased with this. Firstly as he’s bloody lethal and secondly that we have young inexperienced strikers like Shayne, Kyle and KK who can learn a hell of a lot from training with this guy. Even Bees who’s a little older will watch Rhodes and adapt his game for the better.

Takes the pressure off now finding a striker as we should have Shayne and KK back soon enough to bolster.

At least we kept hold of Rhodes against all the odds, though, eh? 😉

In his interview with Radio Lancs, Critch says he found out he was staying yesterday morning. The club wasn't in a rush to break the good news, was it?!
I assume there was paperwork to complete to negate the release clause. You wouldn't want to announce it and then Hudders change their mind for whatever reason.

Great timing..

But smile at the wisdom by A Tense Grin.

Without goals from Rhodes, Blackpool would now languish about 16th in division three.

Around Wycombe's place, 14 points off the playoff spots.

Further positive transfer window news required for better league away form.

Only then would promotion look possible.
And if Man City had League 2 players they'd be in League 2.

Utter nonsense for two reasons.
1. If Rhodes hadn't been playing then we'd have had another striker who could have scored in those games
2. You might as well say the same about every team in the Top 6 - whether a player is yours or on loan is irrelevant - there are teams in the Top 6 who wouldn't be there without their key players.

It's a strange feeling to agree with Paulco but the fact is other strikers can't do what Rhodes has done for us hence our wanting to sign him even if it's just on loan. He accomplished what our team couldn't do and thus he has put points on the board that otherwise would have been lost. The only point of contention is how many points because as you said others could have scored.

Did you really think that through before you posted?

Rhodes has been a success for us this season. Who signed him? Who played him?

You can’t slate the owner and manager on one hand yet not give praise for Rhodes. Oh wait…. I almost forgot that you’re a Nobber

This is excellent news. We're not going down and there is still a possibility we might go up. Good work by the club to negotiate for Jordan' to stay with us.

Now just ditch that back five and we're in business!

Being an eternal optimist, it's no wonder you go all Bruce Lee whenever anyone questions the team.
What has being an eternal optimist got to do with anything?
I have supported Blackpool Football Club through thick and thin for over 50 years and been through the full spectrum of emotions in doing so and quite simply when someone like you comes on this forum and slags them off every single day regardless if we win, lose or draw it winds me up.
You don’t know the meaning of the word support and it baffles me why you bother following them ( if indeed you do)
You are clearly not happy with your lot so I repeat, go and watch someone else and stop boring us with all your negativity.

Yes, precisely this.

Unless of course the Schrödinger’s striker principle applies…….😬

I just think 3-5-2 is shit (boring) and the main reason for our poor away record. Is there anything wrong with that?

I wouldn't give ATG the time of day he is so negative and clueless.

I asked a poster the other day to name 5 teams he'd seen us play against(live not IPTV) this season who had been entertaining he struggled to name two and one of those games we won!
It's third division football which is bang average always has been always will.

Our poor away record is down to home teams playing like the away team sort that out and we'll start picking up points.

If you can't hear the noise and the strikers in the box, you don't know if he's scored until you look and utill that moment he's both missed and scored.

I rather thought he'd be with us for the season, now whether that was wishful thinking I don't know. Great news though.

Since his first goal fans have been right behind Jordan and made him feel welcome may have helped .

Why haven't we tried to get him on a permanent?

Contract up this year and hasn't had a sniff at Huddersfield
If he's on a higher wage topped up by Huddersfield that he doesn't want to give up, we don't want to take on the full cost and he's keeping his options open for next season then it probably works out for all to carry on like it is.

He's getting to do a bit of late career league one stat padding. We've got someone to paper over the cracks of the decision to sell Yates without a proper replacement. Hudds have someone helping to pay off the rest of his contract with them.

Yeah i get that but when his contract is up there will probably be a load of other clubs in for him, so it would be a gamble on if we got him or not

At the moment we are in pole position hence my point about signing him now

I don't think he'd sign here permanently if he can create a situation for himself where he's got a chance of staying on what he's on now for at least another season. From his POV he's here to help himself before us.

Best chance would be getting him to go agree to one years old money spread out over two if he just wants the job security rather than the pay.

No reason they can't have a pre-agreement with him is there? They might not have to make that public even if they did. ... My suspicion though is that both parties would want to wait and see (1) where are we (L1 or Championship)?, and (2) how much are others willing to offer and where are they? There are probably more wait and see questions but those are the 2 that spring immediately to mind.

Maybe we have, but have an agreement to sign him for nothing in the summer rather than pay a fee now?

As it is, Huddersfield continue to pay a chunk of his wages.

Paying his full wages until the end of the loan period which could potentially reduce money for new signings but it’s decent.
