Rangers game cancelled

You miss the point along with the 2 idiots who liked your dumb post

I haven't said friendly games are ridiculous

Just ones at home in a seaside town against a massive club from a different country who have thousands of fans from all over the uk who will travel
even though the issue is completely with our squad, This pandemic isnt going away its already been 18 months are we only allowed to play teams with no support if football cant get back to normal soon there will be no teams left to support as they will start going under.

Everyones symptoms are different same as flu, As a kid I had the emergency doctor out loads cos of flu, even after having the vaccine I get wiped out most winters for up to three weeks but I’d never ask anyone else to stay in or not stand near me😯

Don't be surprised if follow isn't the way to watch Pool again this season. The double jab doesn't seem to be stopping people getting it and the hospitals are going to be maxed out again soon. Deaths will be a lot less, thankfully, but new strains and the problems they bring mean we are in for a bumpy ride for some time. I feel sorry for people like Michelle, because another lockdown and continued stop start lockdowns are going to cause massive problems for certain industries, ones that have already had masses of casualties. I have been in both a Marks & Spencer Food Hall today and a massive Tesco and every single person in both shops were wearing masks, which was great to see. A reporter on 5 live this morning was in a supermarket in London and it was 50/50 masks, non masks, which isn't good at all, plus the capital still only has a third of residents not vaccinated.

I think everyone has had enough of it and want to get back to a normal, pre-covid life but there are still too many risk factors, unknowns and future variants that make me very nervous about how soon things will get back to normal.

In the early days of the pandemic, there was talk of a "new normal" - how life would be in the future. Now we seem to have abandoned that and switched to getting everything back to how it was. The pandemic has forced us into modifying our behaviour, and some of it is for the better. Social distancing, giving people personal space, just taking time to consider others, flexible working, reducing unnecessary travel. We should be embracing some of this stuff, not trying to cancel it out again.

We've now had 3 Covid cases at home...

Both my wife and I have been double jabbed and 'touch wood' we have not contracted the virus so far. In the case of one of the kids who did catch it... Out of their close friends group , only one person did not get the virus (and she had been in very close contact with the source, having slept in the same bed) and that person had been vaccinated.

There are some instances of double jabbed people getting the virus of course, but I do think the vaccine is also stopping a lot of people from getting the virus as well.

Was always going to be a challenge this game.
With the latest Covid figures sky rocketing and almost 5,000 Jocks coming to town on the lash and all within 48 hours of all restrictions being lifted was always going to be a Bridge too far for me.

This doesn't bode well for the coming season. I can see at least away fans being binned off or a cap on numbers.

I think that's a good point. There are certainly things which I think could become permanent lifestyle changes for much of the country (and world). Home working, readily available hand sanitiser, being more aware of personal space, table service in pubs. These could all help to actually improve health, even aside from Covid. The usual winter flu problem could be eased as well.
But isolating for two weeks every time you were in the vicinity of someone with it is both completely impractical and unnecessary. Especially as anyone can order free test kits and literally test every day if required.

Its going to be a joke with all these positive tests around, firms having tons of people isolating everywhere, were not even at the peak yet.

Its not going to work having these isolation rules but a massive amount of cases.

I've been in lockdown now for 8 days, 2 to go, due to being pinged. I've had three negative tests in that time and must admit I left my phone at home last night and went out for a pint and a curry. Sick of it.
Ah bless. Can't go without a curry and a pint for another 48hrs. You need professional help.

No one gets wiped out for three weeks every winter with flu, you need to see a GP.

Ye just stay ye in your house and let life commence outside sad boy 👍🏻
If you knew anyone still waiting for surgery on a chronic life threatening condition because the hospitals were overloaded you might have a different viewpoint.

Or crack on with your ignorant bollocks, up to you, it's not like you'll ever be persuaded to act with others in mind.

I'm not sure this is a problem with your negative tests to be honest. It could well be a better answer than isolation, especially with no symptoms. It's not like you just ignored it and carried on.

I think the perception of 4,500 or more Rangers fans coming here for a full day/night on the piss for a friendly and the limping out of Covid restrictions has played a part in this. Would have been mayhem in Blackpool & it then causes a surge in cases does that reflect bad on the Club? I think that’s why it’s tactical.

Only my opinion, but with a large squad & pre-season we shouldn’t need to cancel as would be ideal for rest of the squad especially if it’s just a few cases.

Tactical non-footballing reasons.
Think it’s also the Glasgow fair fortnight now so many will have been coming down anyway and made a few days or a week of it so a bit late to call it off for that reason
