Boris will feature a new Bill in the Queen's Speech tomorrow to protect animals from cruelty. The Animal Sentience Bill will recognise for the first time in law that vertebrate animals experience joy, pleasure, pain and suffering. The legislation is part of a government initiative to make the UK a world leader in animal welfare. It's good to see Boris and Carrie improving the lot of innocent animals suffering terrible cruelty. The export of live animals, importation of hunting trophies and keeping of primates as pets will be banned along with fur imports and gassing with carbon dioxide. Cats as well as dogs could be required to be microchipped. Excellent job Boris and a surefire vote winner.
