Johnson Again (No need to make it up!)

Boris will feature a new Bill in the Queen's Speech tomorrow to protect animals from cruelty. The Animal Sentience Bill will recognise for the first time in law that vertebrate animals experience joy, pleasure, pain and suffering. The legislation is part of a government initiative to make the UK a world leader in animal welfare. It's good to see Boris and Carrie improving the lot of innocent animals suffering terrible cruelty. The export of live animals, importation of hunting trophies and keeping of primates as pets will be banned along with fur imports and gassing with carbon dioxide. Cats as well as dogs could be required to be microchipped. Excellent job Boris and a surefire vote winner.

Tangojoe,

How about, he has it written in statute, that he’ll keep his lieing gob shut!

Then innocent people will stop suffering from cruelty, as well as animals.

Does the name, Nazanin Zaghari-Radcliffe, ring any bells?

So the criticism of Boris's Animal Sentience Bill is that he sends asylum seekers back to France, he might have shot animals, Nazanin Zaghari-Radcliffe was unjustly jailed in Iran and I'm on the Tory payroll.

Well I have to say, you've swayed me with those arguments. Sod animal welfare.

You’ve been sussed out Joe. 😂

I think it's great to see that Boris cares about dumb animals...........Well he is in the Tory party
Then again, his best mate did f##k a dead pig at the Bullingdon club.....

I wonder if Carrie will get Boris micro-chipped?....just so she can follow him around and stop him shagging anything that moves...
Or she could just get him neutered.....

If Parliament passes the Animal Sentience Bill then, logically, the next step is to close abattoirs and become a vegetarian society? If sheep are sentient, then I am sure they are petrified with fear when they are about to be slaughtered. And that’s without getting into Halal and Kosher killing methods where they cut their throats and bleed them to death while conscious, without even using a bolt gun.

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want
He makes me down to lie
Through pastures green He leadeth me the silent waters by
With bright knives He releaseth my soul
He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places
He converteth me to lamb cutlets
For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger

(Name that tune)

In 2017, Boris Johnson was criticised for making a careless and misleading statement about a British-Iranian woman serving a five-year jail term in Iran, in comments that appear to have complicated her legal case.

The then UK foreign secretary condemned Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s conviction for spying in Iran as a mockery of justice, but added that she was “simply teaching people journalism” – a statement her family and her employer both said was untrue.

Three days after Johnson’s misleading statement to a parliamentary committee, Zaghari-Ratcliffe was summoned before an unscheduled court hearing, where the then foreign secretary’s comments were cited as proof that she was engaged in “propaganda against the regime”.

Yes but no but it doesn't really affect the animal protection legislation does it?

What does that even mean? His comments were a direct cause of her being jailed.

He simply is an unprepared buffoon blundering through with the over inflated sense of worth a public school education has given him. Briefings from officials are an inconvenience he might have glanced over, hence his constant unpreparedness and ability to put his foot in his mouth.

True but I was just picking up on Jaffa's bore-snore (zzzzz) response, which I thought was disrespectful of an innocent Briton in jail in Tehran and one whose plight was made way more precarious by the lazy and ill-informed comments of the worst foreign secretary (Johnson) this country has had in generations.

Woke nonsense. 😉

Bore snore being disrespectful?
I suggest you look up the thread from a couple of weeks ago regarding this woman then come back and tell me what you think then.
Go on it’ll open your eyes trust me.

Point taken J_T_H. I've read your comments criticizing her treatment by Iran on an earlier thread. So why the 'zzzzz' comment? Surely not in defence of Johnson? What he said was indefensible.

Because I think the guy who posted the comments talks out of his arse 99.9% of the time and he's a Nobber and I have no time for him plain and simple.
I know full well the gaff Johnson made at the time and most certainly wasn’t trying to defend him.
