For me it's people, only people. Do you see a white man and a black girl and an Asian pensioner and an Oriental baby or do you see a man, a woman, a pensioner and a baby?
Black people appear to be more successful at the elite level of some sports - not all. Is that not because black people are more attracted to some sports? You might as well say that upper class people are better at three day eventing, that upper-middle class people are better at rugby (in Britain), or that the Scandinavians excel at snow and ice-based sports. But then, why bother saying it?

Yes, it is only people, if we were in a Utopian Society. Sadly that will NEVER happen.
As BFC x3 eludes to; no matter what you may think, you can never rule out that in the back of your mind the person you are talking to is of a totally different background and race than yourself.
I think these things also swing both ways.
When a black person achieves something for the first time then it is made known globally.
ie. The first black president, the first black footballer, etc, etc.
Why do they need to emphasise it?
If people are ever going to get on an equal footing then stop using theses terms.
Interesting how we can’t refer to a blackboard anymore or other terms that mention the word black; but why?
There is absolutely no offence, intended or implied, when these everyday words are used.
We are watching the series “Them” on prime and it is beyond belief how someone can treat another human being so cruelly just because of the colour of their skin.
The sad part about all this (which is also why things will never change) is that there are still mindless morons who think it’s funny and clever to make racist comments.
