You don't want to pull a hamstring when you're doing that type of training!!Fitness coach brought in to ensure the players are properly serviced during our pre-season tour to a certain big Texas city
They’ve not even spoken to himGood we have got a experienced man in.
GoodIt’s utter shite. It’s not happening
Has been? He won promotion to the premier League on Friday and now he is a has been. Why might he be deemed a good appointment by some - what has he achieved?
Not suggesting he isn't any good - but surely a bit of a 'has been'?
Nah Mick McCarthy was a bit of a has been.. if you've just won a league title with the club you've only just left then you're hardly a has been. Why might he be deemed a good appointment by some - what has he achieved?

It’s all relative though Mull old boy. If we’re suddenly counting Scottish Lower League football as relevant we may as well start including junior football which brings TAM into the equation should he be interested. Love how midfield general references promotion to the premier league, could you be more specific pleaseNah Mick McCarthy was a bit of a has been.. if you've just won a league title with the club you've only just left then you're hardly a has been.
You must have had a major tangible success on every day of your life by that maxim
He got two teams promoted who had just been relegated the previous season. There is absolutely nothing inspiring or transformational in what he's done
The Scottish championship is the same level as Lg 1.For a club that should be looking to get promoted out of League One, it isn't dreadful but it is pretty uninspiring. He's never been near a promotion at the level we're playing at next season.
I'd be more inclined to think that would be more the case with Wellens. Bowyer has stated that he wants a job closer to home and would be stupid to resign if he didn't have anything lined up.Could it be that Bowyer has tried using Blackpool as leverage for a better deal at Dundee and it hasn’t worked. Sadler has sussed it out hence Matt‘s very rapid response putting the rumour to bed. We had enough of that last year.
No it isn't.The Scottish championship is the same level as Lg 1.
Looks more like winning The National LeagueNo it isn't.
Look at the average attendances.

Look at this from a couple of years ago, the wages are below league 2 level.

I wasn't aware that attendances had anything to do with the standard of the football played on the pitch. No it isn't.

Scottish Championship is L2 standard and National League attendance wise.I wasn't aware that attendances had anything to do with the standard of the football played on the pitch.
No. Bowyer had a huge falling out with Dundee’s mental owner and also fell out with Gordon Strachan (who for some reason is there as Director of Football)I'd be more inclined to think that would be more the case with Wellens. Bowyer has stated that he wants a job closer to home and would be stupid to resign if he didn't have anything lined up.
It's nowhere near the same standard, there is a semi professional football club in the Scottish Championship with part time players and they finished 3rd from bottom, actually surviving. You put a semi professional club in League One and they wouldn't even get into double figures. The Scottish championship is the same level as Lg 1.
Exactly what Wellens did before Critchley was appointed, might rule him out this time, once bitten twice shy.I'd be more inclined to think that would be more the case with Wellens. Bowyer has stated that he wants a job closer to home and would be stupid to resign if he didn't have anything lined up.
In another table : East Fife 4th, Forfar 5th.No it isn't.

You don't see a correlation in attendances and far less TV money, to what quality of player a club can afford to bring in?I wasn't aware that attendances had anything to do with the standard of the football played on the pitch.
It was the way the club rushed to quash that particular rumour ( I presume that’s where Scrafton’s info came from). He could be after a job elsewhere. Maybe Wigan, they must be due a new manager. Or the other end of the M55.I'd be more inclined to think that would be more the case with Wellens. Bowyer has stated that he wants a job closer to home and would be stupid to resign if he didn't have anything lined up.
Bookmark thisSorry……but this man will definitely maintain our L1 status (and probably get us in top 10) but he will NEVER get us promoted from this league….
Yep, that would be perfectWell I for one would love to see a Dobbie Bowyer “Double Act”.
Dobbie has done well although Birmingham & Norwich we’re “On The Beach”
However, he’s showed he can motivate and get players believing even when the are already relegated as a club.
Gary Bower older head and totally professional.
Give me :
Dobbie : 1st Team Manager
Bowyer : D of Football
With a full closed season to prepare.
“Bring It On”
Omg. At first glance I thought koko was on the way back!
Oh sorry, didn’t realise managers had to be born from an egg on a mountain top. I thought they were mortal human beings who walk among us, have decent playing careers, do their coaching badges, take youth/reserve teams then get promoted … y’know, like Dobbie?Sick of all this Dobbie shit. Do you want to see your club succeed, or do you just want a bloke to be our manager who is massively underqualified to do the job? Just because he played on loan for us 200 times?
Get real. We need a proper manager, not a sentimental appointment based on the pre-pubescent yearnings from the virgins in the North Stand who grew up masturbating to his goal away at Forest in 2010.
Dobbie was, and is, in charge of the kids. He's not a League 1 manager. End of story.
Nice ‘Monkey’ reference there TKLOh sorry, didn’t realise managers had to be born from an egg on a mountain top. I thought they were mortal human beings who walk among us, have decent playing careers, do their coaching badges, take youth/reserve teams then get promoted … y’know, like Dobbie?
Like Grayson(first time) who was looking after the reserves?Sick of all this Dobbie shit. Do you want to see your club succeed, or do you just want a bloke to be our manager who is massively underqualified to do the job? Just because he played on loan for us 200 times?

Manchester United lost to Brighton. 70k v 30kYou don't see a correlation in attendances and far less TV money, to what quality of player a club can afford to bring in?
Having a username as you do, I'd actually thought that you may have some!!!Sick of all this Dobbie shit. Do you want to see your club succeed, or do you just want a bloke to be our manager who is massively underqualified to do the job? Just because he played on loan for us 200 times?

The same with McKenna at Ipswich. Sometimes you need young uns with fresh ideas not these old dinosaurs on the managerial merry go round. I reckon Dobbie would be the perfect choice with an experienced bloke to help him.Like Grayson(first time) who was looking after the reserves?
Your argument doesn't stack up as long as they have been coaching er like Critchley everyone needs to start somewhere and the third division is a brilliant starting point.
Schumacher at Plymouth who has never be a manager has just got them promoted so just give the gig to Dobbie and stop all this we need experience shite.
Come on...Manchester United lost to Brighton. 70k v 30k
Yeah crowd sizes are more important the lower you are down the pyramid.Come on...
Vast TV money helps in the prem, but the majority of the big clubs are at the top. Helps if you have a benefactor too.
However it's pretty obvious that a club getting 30k vs a club getting 10k can afford better players and is more likely to get success, all things being equal. Unless there's a very rich benefactor willing to lose millions to make up some of the gap, even then it's not always sustainable and you have to be within ffp.
Of course there's recruitment, the manager, pressure etc, it's not a guarantee but generally, if not completely mismanaged, it's a big advantage.
If we had 30k ST holders imagine the players we could afford...
Why?Oh well don’t say you weren’t warned. Dreadful appointment
Better then Dobbie who has done nothing yet.He got two teams promoted who had just been relegated the previous season. There is absolutely nothing inspiring or transformational in what he's done.
What really shouldnt happen is a four year contract for Dobbie...by all means giving him a short term deal to prove himself and then firm it up six months in if he has done well..perhaps a one plus one at first and then renegotiate...I guess we are still paying Appleton after that absolute shit show and that is laughable
I’m not sure that was the case at all with Applehead..it was totally unnecessary to sign him up for 4 years…who was coming in for him Man Utd??You know these 4-year contracts have break clauses in them, don't you?
Appleton had a 4-year contract, but wouldn't have walked away with 4 years pay, probably more like 6 months would be my guess.
Course there were break clauses.I’m not sure that was the case at all with Applehead..it was totally unnecessary to sign him up for 4 years…who was coming in for him Man Utd??
Superb post. Couldn’t have drafted it better myself. Although if Bowyer is the alternative!!!!Sick of all this Dobbie shit.
