Bowler's farewell

My heart sank when you left but what great memories of you with the ball at your feet ghosting past players like they are statues, doing things us supporters could only dream of doing. The very best of luck for the future Josh you have been awesome .

What a class act this guy is and I'm so proud we saw him wearing the tangerine shirt, albeit for a short while. Good luck Josh, hope you go on to achieve great things. We'll miss you, but you deserve your chance. Thanks for everything and the memories you've left us.

Nice to read that. Good luck Josh and count yourself lucky your going to Greece and you won’t have to see Mr Ugly for a while everyday in training.

Why do I get the feeling we haven't seen the last of him in a Blackpool shirt?

I don't know what gives me that impression. Just a hunch I guess.
I’ve got the same feeling. Some players are just at ‘home’ are certain clubs. I think he’ll come to realise that.
All the best to him in the meantime. Loved watching him play

that's not the point Hazi was making. He is talking specifically about wingers and the art of dribbling. But of course your negativity will want to ruin a tribute thread. Shame really.
You did see Tony Green obviously in previous posts. Josh is a good player but to say great. Not a chance.

No less than I expected from him…. He’s a classy player and you can see that he just loves to play football.

It would have been easy to go all sulky when his move didn’t work out in January, but instead he got his head down and hit a purple patch 👍

Sad to see him go, but he deserves his move and will hopefully get the opportunity to shine.
A classy player and a classy individual. He meant what he said, as others have said it’s a pity someone else didn’t have as much class.

Class act of a bloke, always gave 100% with all the chat every day / week. Best wishes and good luck with your ongoing career. Hope you really kick on 🧡

But Hazi was talking about wingers, Green wasn't a winger.
Josh wasn't either really in the formation used today. If you think he was one of the best you've seen then that's fantastic. Personally seen better. He would of thrived in the 70-80s with style of play but as we saw on Wednesday Troverers marked him out of the game.

A classic way to say goodbye by a classic person! He will have been hurting inside having to move from this great club and fans who absolutely adored him. I remember his debut coming on in the 2nd half against Southport in the 21/22 pre season friendly with the ball sticking to his foot like shit to a shovel!

Good luck Josh you deserve it 👏👏👏👏

Well you ve got to admit he brought so much excitement ,first time I saw him against Middlesbrough in the league Cup and thought wow who is this tearing straight at their defence was great ,I don't really mind him moving on football is a very short career good luck mate.

I just don't like all this 'thanks you're just the best' bollocks. Footballers will sell their own gran if their agent tells them to.
This is true. So maybe the best you’re allowed to hope for is they give everything and provide some excitement whilst they’re here, and say a few nice things when they go.
He’s done that, and as far as excitement goes he’s more than done that.
So good luck to him. I’ll keep half an eye on his career, the same way I did Alan Wright, Trevor Sinclair, Charlie Adam etc

Without having read all the posts in details, seems to be a bit of a debate about how good or great he was.
I don’t think he was here long enough to be classed as a Blackpool great. But he certainly produced lots of great moments and memories, I’m happy with that 👍

Class that! Means a lot and wish him all the best. I’ll be following his footballing career and take interest in it. Thanks for the memories and entertainment.

Critchley can go and fuck himself with one of Gerards cones! That’s how’s it done - not difficult really Neil! Twot….

So all footballers are the same? Good manners, courtesy generosity of spirit and gratitude count for nothing if you`re a footballer.

His career was going badly, in the wrong direction and no doubt he wondered if he was going to make it or not till he came here. At Blackpool his future has been transformed and he is thrilled and eternally grateful and has had the courtesy and gratitude to express his feelings. Good for him.

I for one am happy to believe he is sincere .

What a sad cynical world anyone lives in if they can`t do that and just accept his gracious words at face value..

The way football is these days im not sure we will have anyone for long enough to say they are a great. If we have someone for 1 season who’s mustard they get offered big dough they’re off.

Yep that’s true enough. I’d class CA as a great though and he was only here for 2 and a half years. But because of what the team achieved, and how central to it he was, he’s a Blackpool great

I totally agree Charlie is the last all time great he used to win us games on his own.

Transformed? He's gone to Forest and then immediately out on loan, he's better than that and he was better off here, except for the money, which I don't blame him for, but all this sentiment is just pointless. He won't play in the Premier League for them, so career wise what was the point?

I wish him health and happiness, he seems like a nice fella, but I couldn't care less about his career, it doesn't effect me or the club at all any more apart from he might face us in future.

We have a 25% sell on… So I suppose it affects us to the extent that we stand to gain If he’s successful and moves on.

Thanks Josh, for them brilliant comments to BFC and us fans.
You are the best Blackpool player I've seen when running with the ball since Tony Green, and I know there have been quite a few good'ns in the 50 years between you both.
Hope you have a great career.
🧡 UTMP 🧡

Blimey he's only been a Blackpool player for about a year. Yes he was good, very good, but this thread makes him sound like the greatest player we've ever had. That simply isn't true. He has shown class with his goodbye departure (unlike our previous manager) and I wish him every success in the future, but he's nowhere near the likes of Charlie Adam, Trevor Sinclair, Wes Hoolahan, Paul Stewart, Eamon O'Keefe etc etc (obvs loads before those)
Anyway, great player, hope he makes it big time.
Bring on Callum Wright 👍

Well done Josh for speaking those words. And thanks for all the entertainment. I wish you success and happiness in all that you do. Be great to see you back st Bloomfield some time in the future. Preferably in a tangerine shirt.

He has certainly entertained me, loved watching him and is one of those players who give you a buzz when on the ball and expect something to happen. Wish him all the best.

Is that not the case in any industry ?

If you get offered big dough elsewhere you’re off in most instances ?

I’m hoping he’s in the squad on Thursday and plays the 90 mins. Nantes V Olympiacos 8pm kick off
I hope he goes on to have an amazing career wherever that may be 💕💕

Although I have been critical of Josh holding the ball too long and taking on too many players . There is no doubt about it .He is one of the most exciting players in recent years to put on a tangerine shirt on and his final comments to the fans will make him a legend for Blackpool . I hope he does well in the future in football and wish him the best for the rest of his life.

Yeah thanks, whatever, so proud we've been a stepping stone to you not even making the Forest squad.
I am worried Forest ain't the right move for him, but I do think he has the ability to do great things - I certainly hope it works out for him anyway.

He gave a good account of himself as a person/footballer as he was professional throughout, even when after a move. On the eve of his transfer he was still trying to win us football matches, players like Bowler don't come around often for Blackpool and I believe the sentiment in his post that we helped install his confidence back - I'm sure he'll look back on Blackpool fondly.

He got us off our feet routinely and gave us (or me at least) memories that will last a bloody good while: the equaliser at Fulham away, the wonder goal vs. Bournemouth and his goal against Bristol City where he sent the lad and keeper for a hot dog before slotting it home. Call me a soppy bugger but I loved him whilst he was here, very sad to see him go and the way he played on the pitch and the way he behaved off it has more than earned my respect - can't even be mad at him for leaving, just miffed we won't get to watch him play in Tangerine anymore!

Could he be an Ormerod 2.0?

Just hope Bowler doesn't taint himself at them lot down the M55 before his glorious return!

And then you woke up Q 😄 would be nice to think he would but I think like wes we will just admire him doing well somewhere else with fond memories of what he did here.
