Anti depressants

Lala after 8 years on citalopram, I decided I was ok so came off them, big mistake after a few weeks felt bad again. Saw the doc and went back on them, been on them again for 7 years now. Don‘t stop taking them voluntarily and undo all the good the pills have done. If one takes pills for heart problems or such, you wouldn’t just stop them because you felt a little better, take care now.👍🏏

Thanks Levi, I’m taking that advice. Glad you got sorted again.
A lot of us with very similar experiences on here.

Lala, this magnificent ton not even aided by the usual run accumulation of the to and fro of argument and insult must cheer your Soul …..well batted 🏏👍……face the pavilion, remove the cap, raise the Willow

Thanks Blood ❤️ I’ve given myself a massive kick up the ass and have thrown myself into distraction mode so am doing ok now 👌 I think part of my problem is I see a bad day, or a bad few days and I panic I’m going to be ill again. Which terrifies me. It’s a fine line between knowing the signs and panicking prematurely.

Anyways, it’s obvious we all have mental health trials and tribulations on an ongoing basis, potentially. So I’m going to ask admin if we can have a mental health sticky where people can just check in as and when they need support 👍

I’m laughing at the GP bit… They throw you some sweets and forget about you if they’re anything like mine…I think a fairly basic computer program could replace most GP’s and do a far better job tbh.

I was on citalopram from my mid 20’s for maybe 10 - 15 years. Mainly for severe Anxiety.. It was bad enough to be disabling for a while to the point that I struggled tp leave the house, couldn’t work etc… A combination of too much stress in my life from various things in a short space of time and I snapped.

I’ve not been on anything now for over a decade, but I still get occasional ‘very mild’ anxiety and have suffered moderate depression from time to time (Vit D & B, and lots of outdoor exercise seem to help keep my mood perked up👍)

If they’re working for you and you feel happy and balanced, then I’d stick with it.
I didn’t comment on this post earlier, but that sounds like bloody awful anxiety Bifster.

I have always managed to get out of the house, just not managed to sit anywhere out or in when I’ve had horrendous anxiety. Even at work when my colleagues heads seemed too close and too loud for me to understand 🤣🤣

You had an awful time by the sounds of it, and I’m really glad you moved away from that, it cannot have been easy.
Thanks for your support on this thread 👍

Agree with Blood here.
Great ton, no arguments, just sensible and heartfelt replies etc.
I sincerely hope that some people have been glad to see that they are not alone in the problems of a decent nights' sleep.
Also that they might have received the benefit of some of the answers etc.
