It's actually next to the Owls rest home going South pretty much over the road from us. Was Heather Lee's (the florist) until her death & now up for sale. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/146907716#/?channel=RES_BUYOn the southern corner of St. Anne's Rd and Ayrton Avenue. It's now an old folks home.
Out of interest where was that Billy?Worked in the same computing department as Keith Dyson in the early 80s.
Preston. He was only at our place a couple of years but from vague memory I think he went somewhere else in Preston afterwards. That would be before 1984 though.Out of interest where was that Billy?
Got to know Keith through junior football & his missus Jennifer was a teacher at Hodgson when I was there. Always presumed they'd returned to the North East after his Blackpool career ended?
I worked in IT from late 80's on DSS/DWP contract at St Annes. Loads of geordie's came down when work was transferred from Newcastle.
Mr Durie was one of my PE teacher's at PalatineDave Durie did his teacher training at our school
My Seasider hero - he could have played with his laces tied together and still thrashed your team He continues to be Mr Blackpool FCI was once having a kickabout with a couple of pals on the Rock Gardens. A younger group appeared and there's not much space so we ended up in a 6ish a side with them.
We were hammering them, being a bit older, when an old guy appeared, walking his dog. One of the younger boys shouted across to him "dad, come and help us, we're getting thrashed here!".
The old fella walks over, leather shoes, overcoat etc, we're thinking who's this old bugger as if he's gonna be able to play!!
Long story short, the "old boy" was only Tony Green and even in his fancy shoes, overcoat and being well into his 50s he absolutely tore us apart!!!
Lol, you're not wrong! It was a masterclass!!My Seasider hero - he could have played with his laces tied together and still thrashed your team He continues to be Mr Blackpool FC

Tony's lads would not be living in Blackpool and well into their 20's if Tony was well into his 50's.I was once having a kickabout with a couple of pals on the Rock Gardens. A younger group appeared and there's not much space so we ended up in a 6ish a side with them.

I'm not lying, might be mistaken though. I was probably about 14 ish I'd say, and I'm 55 now, so we're talking 40 odd years ago.Tony's lads would not be living in Blackpool and well into their 20's if Tony was well into his 50's.
I know this as his youngest lad was my mate until he left Blackpool.
SameA distant family connection to Charlie Adams Mrs
Not having a go at you pal. And I certainly don't think you are lying. Just maybe time lines. Because I met Tony Green and his youngest lad playing football aged about 6 on the Rock Gardens. And then went soon after to the same Primary school. And Tony joined in mesmerizing my dad (who is also Scottish and didn't realize who he was until later when they were friends for a while). I was lucky and was taken to many games with Tony Green as his lads mate. I was spellbound at Bloomfield road and hadn't a clue that Tony Green Snr was so much loved.I'm not lying, might be mistaken though. I didn't even know who he was at the time, just remember being in awe of this blokes skills and someone saying that's Tony Green.
If it wasn't him, that's a shame, but no problem
