Your 'on the pitch' moment

Listening to Roman Kemp on Capital this morning on the pitch at the Emirates, living out that schoolboy fantasy of scoring a pen, so when have you been on the hallowed turf at BR and what were you doing!!

Responding to a fire alarm when we opened the new North Stand, I think.

I've been on the pitch at Deepdale, on 13 April 1970, like hundreds of others.

I even got a lump ot turf. I kept it in a jar at home for weeks, where it merely sat there before gradually disintegrating. Make your own metaphor out of that......

Lancashire Cup final for school. Lost in extra time despite a sensational goal by me, pushing forward from left back, to open the scoring early in the 2nd half.

Harry Johnston Cup final the following year which we won.

It was common to go on the pitch at the last home game of the season in the 70’s 80’s I remember doing this a few times … more recently I remember a game being stopped in the early 2000’s when a fire alarm went off (can’t remember the exact match) and we all had to evacuate the stands and go on the pitch while it was investigated … match restarted a few minutes later with no incident 😏

Kids football Hogan Cup final.
Got gubbed 1-6.
Absolute shit show & 2 inches of tepid water in the then communal bath 😔
Same here , got beat 6-1 I gave away a penalty as well , played for Palatine , Baines hammered us. Remember they had a lad that was over 6 foot that ran the game.

Pushing the stretcher trolley towards Willie Morgan and suggesting he'd move quicker on it...he wasn't amused, tried to kick me but was shoved down the players tunnel by an amused policeman.

That's made me feel slightly better 53 after all these years 🤣 . Could even hear them singing we've won the cup through the changing room walls & pomagne corks flying 😔

My parents used to drop me off and I'd go on the west paddock on my own, where I could lean on the wall at the front and get a good view. When we made the playoffs final in 1991 two big blokes arrived behind me intend on going on the pitch, and when the final whistle went, they grabbed me by each arm and took me with them 😂

When we were on the Spion Kop for the final game of the season before it was demolished. Remember it was a shit game!

Think it was Colchester 0-0 we had the away end for the game - the biggest cheers of the match was when Chris Malkin got substituted our record signing was not to be seen again

Mine occurred at Deepdale - April 1970. I was on my dad's shoulders as the whole of the Blackpool contingent ran over to the players tunnel to cheer off our lads.

The first time i was on BR was the time I swapped allegiances and became a Blackpool fan (I was brought up as an Man Utd Fan as my dad is a massive Utd fan). It was 84/85ish (about 9/10 years old) and i was there to be a ball boy with my junior football club Wyre Juniors. For some reason there was no mascot so they pulled names out of a hat to be it and i was chosen. They had no junior kits so i wore one of the first team kits even though it drowned me. Ran out with the players and then passed the ball around and had a few shots on goal!

I think we won the game quite convincingly even though i cant remember who it was against. It was bouncing down with rain though i can be sure of that!

Because of that night I changed to a life of Tangerine and highs and lows!

Played at Bloomers a few times in 65/66 for under15 Town team , also trained there troughout winter ( not on pitch ) whilst on schoolboys form with the mighty . Happy days and memories . Wilf Dixon was the trainer in those heady days ..

Been on the Nobbers pitch twice. First time when we tubbed them 3 nil to send them down and us up, and second time played on that plastic pitch of theirs.

Scored* a pen past Les Sealey in the early 90s at one of the fun days. The south paddock went wild.

*he let it in

I’ve played in two finals at Bloomers, once in the Hogan cup final for BJFF aged around 12/13 and again in the Saturday league cup when was in my mid 20’s

100% record. Played 2 lost 2 😔

I had a spell on the BFC groundstaff late80s early90s, I was putting back divots near where the old managers office used to be in the south/east corner in preparation for the Man.City Cup game in 87/88.
I looked up and stood there was Sam Ellis & Tommy Docherty, Sam asked what I was doing, just flattening the pitch was my reply, just be a good lad and leave it be was Big Sam's retort.

Was a ball boy, would have been around 1993 so walked across the pitch to the empty part of the kop.

Remember the ball going into that stand, I retrieved the ball and gave it to Bryan Griffiths who then took a corner 😁

Never got chance to play at Bloomfield Road sadly. Lost out in the semis in year 6 at primary school where the final would be held at Bloomfield Road, was gutted ☹️

I and a few others went onto the pitch at the end of the PO SF First Leg vs Hartlepool in 2001, a game we dominated. I have no idea why I did it and ended up shaking hands with several of our players and theirs....I think it was pure elation!

End of season, either 91 or 92.
Either way, I ended up with Tony Rodwell's shirt. (Still have it to this day 👍🏻)

After we'd beaten a great Ipswich team in the league Cup, Vic Davidson getting a brace.

I'll think of more, it's what you did in the day😉

First I remember was after the play off semi win in 1990? Can’t recall pitch invasions the previous few years ? Apart from a couple of away team invasions ?
We were on the pitch against Torquay in the mid 80s. Everyone was on the cinder track 10 minutes before the final whistle.

Last time we went up automatically. We were also on the pitch at Feethams after the previous game.

The last game of the season used to be a regular thing with Tony Parr beseeching us to stay off, as we could be docked points.

Don't remind me of Feethams🤦
Great win, final whistle on the pitch celebrating with Ian Britton. Turned away in jubilation, WHOLLOP🥊
Having 7 bells getting kicked out of me whilst curled up like a bloody hedgehog, seemed to last ages but was probably only 30 odd seconds.
Rescued by a group of lads who were like super hero's!! Thanked them, then they were gone😁
Got home early hours, woke up later looking like a dalmatian 🤕

Played 45 mins as right back in a Charity Aid football match about a decade ago. Never played right back before in my life. 😁

I remember it well. We piled over the little wall in the West Paddock you took it out of my hands..............😳
We should share it really... 😁

Played RB in the Lancashire Schools Cup Final on the plastic pitch at Deepdale, lost 4-2.

Played in a weird 6-a-side tournament in Yorkshire, beat Glyn Hodge's side and scored loads.

Played in an international amateur tournament (I kid you not) again in Yorkshire, for Wednesday. We beat the French lads of RC Lens and in the semis lost to Middlesbrough. Had my RC Lens keyring for years!

Wednesday fans v Blades fans, snapped my leg just under the knee cap when our 18st keeper landed on me. They carried me off, and I watched the entire 2nd half. Missed 12 weeks of work and it took my leg a good year to regain the muscle.

Burnley away when Morrell scored in injury time.jumped over the barrier wall to give it to the Burnley fans and Granada captured half of my body as I jumped down

Plenty of last game pitch invasions. Play offs, especially remember the angry scenes vs Bradford 1996.
I've also worked matchday groundstaff several times.

Torquay home 1985. Absolutely mobbed in the West. Everyone knew there was going to be a pitch invasion that day and that was the only side easy to get on. The other three including the Kop which was still open to home fans had fences. I was a South Paddock season ticket holder, but went in the West that day.

Ipswich in the League Cup in 1978, beat them 2-0, ran on at the end from the Scratching Shed, got bollocked by man old man, but still allowed to stay up when we got home to watch the highlights on Midweek Soccer Special. Haven't seen the highlights since.

One more, but not on the pitch. Just on the cinder track when it kicked off against Sheffield United in 1979, night game, both sets of fans clashed exactly where I was sat on the wall. I was only 9. Had to jump over the advertising boards.

Kind of related, however was picked to be part of the half time entertainment at the Etihad. Someone who I used to work with was a City fan, and asked if I wanted to go to a FA cup game against West Ham, tickets were only a tenner. One ball was placed on the centre circle, and three balls places on the edge of the D. Had to pass the ball and hit the ball on the centre circle. Messed up the first attempt, the second however hit the centre circle ball perfectly. Was told that I was the first person to do this, the season before I would have won £10,000. Instead I received two hospitality tickets against Blackburn. Would much rather have had the ten grand 😆

We always ran onto the pitch at the end of the games in the early eighties to get the players tie ups, I normally ended up with Terry pashleys, played against him in Sunday League when he’d been retired a good few years and was a bit starstruck !
He didn’t have to move much he was brilliant just with his passing, he was playing for a Fleetwood team from memory named after a shop that made trophies, a few other times as well for various reasons like Walsall away but my favourite was with my youngest lad on my shoulders after we secured a playoff spot against Bristol city, my other two kids didn’t come on to the pitch as they thought we might get into trouble, we got interviewed by itv & it ended up on tv , I’ve still got a video of it he was about 8

Took a few pens as a tango junior seasider lol remember sending Barnet down last home game of the season after they twomped us 7-0 at their gaff earlier that season. Never forget the Barnet players walking off as we went on glum as f.

I only started going around 1987-88 ish, can’t remember too many games back then Man City / QPR / Bolton

Scored a hat trick in my first match for Palatine school when we beat St John Vianney 3-1
It was my 12th birthday and I was wearing my birthday boots!
I remember it was a very muddy pitch!
