I’ve always wondered this… do the other planets in our solar system exist for a reason? Surely they serve some kind of a purpose?

I don’t like the fact that Jupiter could just be sat there like ‘I’m big and I’ve got loads of moons and that but I’m just boring really… I’m like the planetary equivalent of Man Utd’.

Yep, ignoring the witty quip, a small telescope can show the rings, better when the planet is side on as they can't really be seen when Saturn is 'on a level'. I have a 70mm that I take away on hols which works well ( there was a cruise ship off Kefalonia probably 4/5 miles out, obviously showing an open air film which turned out to be Mama Mia after closer inspection) and I also have a larger, not really that portable one for home use. Which tbh I don't use enough partly as it has to sit on grass and we don't seem to get many crisp, clear night, so gets muddy and unpleasant to do.
