York city

My favourite UK city and I loved Bootham Crescent and the fact it was a short staggering distance in to the centre, shame they've relocated to a new venue.

I've got some great memories of when we played there back in the day as we always stayed over to enjoy the delights of this beautiful city, though as mentioned we usually struggled to get a good result.

Swinging from the crossbar, last day of the season ('96?). Classic awayday.

One question, why was the Play Off final played at York's home ground? Surely it should have been in a neutral location?

All changed a couple of years ago in that the 2nd and 3rd place clubs automatically qualified for the semi final and both would be playing at home in a one off game.
The 4th-7th places clubs played each other as normal but at the ground of the highest placed team in a one off game and the 2 winners met the 2nd and 3rd placed clubs in the semi finals but were away.
The final also changed to the ground of the highest placed team left in this case York.
All about finishing the highest up the league you can for guaranteed home advantage but it this case Brackley and Fylde it back fired big time.

Scene of some of my worst experiences of following the Seasiders but fair play to them. They have just managed to avoid playing Scarborough next season in a local derby.

I feel sorry for Sir Jonathan van Tam

After all he's done for this country, and then his team go and blow it against York.

Definitely a game of no halfs.
