Agree with moat of this but for a kick off Bowler is never a centre midfielder.

As others have said you have to work with the players you have not have a pre conceived formation and shoe horn players into non natural positions
Playing our stand out X-Factor player out of position definitely isn’t the way forward
Next two games are crucial and we need to get back to a formation that gets Bowler and CJ in their natural wide and forward positions
I suspect we’ll have a really good idea whether or not we have a chance of survival 5pm next week
If MM stays with the same formation I think we all know the answer
 
Be honest, who thought we would get anything out of the game today anyway? Boro are flying so it was always a big ask. Short of parking the bus and hoping to frustrate the opposition I don't think there's anything Mick could have done today. The real test begins on Tuesday
 
Under Critchley and Appleton we regularly were happy to concede possession to the opposition defence but today we also conceded midfield without a whimper. Boro had so many spare players throughout the game it looked like they had 3 or 4 more on the park. As individuals in possession Boro were m.uch stronger. They were excellent to be fair and probably one of the best teams I have seen play at this level in the past 15 years. I was disappointed with Patino and Lavery but I felt the real problem was at the centre of our defence were the new partnership looked clumsy.
