Worst strike pairing in memory?

I agree. And balls that go up to him, he never wins a header. He has a little girly jump but there is no physicality. Shouldn’t be played to him like that though. He’s had a few seasons and unfortunately he’s not progressed.
There's no physicality in the team at all.

As said on another thread, I reckon Kouassi has real potential if trained, developed, and coached properly.
He did ok yesterday - a target man unit. The others are rapidly going backwards.

The problem is not just up front though and the service delivered to the strikers is intermittent at best. I don’t think we have an issue with any of them not putting the effort in or not trying ..(sometimes if anything they are trying too hard )…the system the manager uses doesn’t encourage shots on target or enough creativity and it’s kudos to Rhodes that he scored as many as he did ..I’m not exaggerating when I say we would be struggling to be in the top half of the table without his goals. For what it’s worth I’d say

Joseph has potential but needs game time and needs confidence building ..he looks like he will get neither from Critchley. I hope he can realise some of his potential

Lavery is a shadow of what he can be and has had his confidence eroded by a manager who dropped him when he was scoring under Critchley first time around. Was told to play left wing by clueless squad wrecker Appleton and then got injured and has been stop start ever since. I’m not sure he isn’t damaged goods with us now and he will probably come good somewhere else.

Beesley Looked gangly and green and not ready when he first signed but then had a superb going day v Birmingham and looked like he could kick on. He then got dropped, badly injured and didn’t play for an age. He made an ok start this season and scored at Derby and had a disallowed goal early on and then his face didn’t fit for a while and he burst back in with a few great performances against Morecambe in the joke cup and then in the league. He now runs at about one effective game in five but he works hard to be fair. This appears to be the way he is and as such he is a typical limited lower league striker and has done ok to get 11 goals… he is ok as a plan b or plan c option but should not be our first choice.

Kouassi has raw potential and gets a pass from me as he needs experience and his confidence building..considering we got him for next to nothing from Sutton then he has done better than I expected .. he has limitations and probably isn’t ready to play too much but he could improve given he is only 20.

Lavery is absolutely horrendous. Pass him the ball and you are flipping a coin as to whether Blackpool will ha possession or the opposition will. Terrible first touch and can't weight a pass to save his life.

He was like this in his first season too.
If played in the right way, concentrate on the 18 yard area, and used as a strong element in a high press, he would turn up trumps i think. He's not playing with any confidence that is clear, but neither is most of the team. First half yesterday we largely cast off the safety first, defensive shape even in attack, and showed some control and promise. We came out second half with that lack of confidence again, sat too deep, let the opposition play in front of us.
When the team is doing well and go in for their half time brew I'm sure critchley is dropping bromide into it, to make them more compliant to his wisdom
