Winter Olympics

Think I'd prefer a couple of root fillings than watch this crap. Is there anything as mind numbingly boring as this?

Come on!
Just because GB cannot compete with the alpine Nations, some sports are OK.
The Ice Hockey is exciting and enjoy watching GB compete in Curling.

It’s not something I’d plan my day around, but flick it on between my normal routine, and enjoy everything I’ve seen so far.
I can appreciate the curling as a great tactical game, I’m in awe of the ‘balls of steel’ shown by any of the sports that involve people hurtling down from great heights with the risk of death on landing (the stunt ski jumping is amazing), and got fully caught up in the snowboard racing.

Can’t fault it.

Edit to add: I don’t think there’s a single event in the Winter Olympics that I could have a go at, but at 55 I can still run 400m!

Watched bits and bobs. Like the Biathlon but both women's and men's was ruined by the BBC culling the event before the climax in order to discuss over and over and over how some Scottish curlers had failed to win a medal.

The coverage has been terrible.

Just watching, is it either the luge or the skeleton? Always get them the wrong way round.

70-80mph head first on something you might do a small jigsaw on. There's a lot of very brave folk at the Games, and these are right up there with the best.

And leaving the bravery aside, I'm in awe of anyone who's back still allows them to run alongside their sled, bent over, holding on with one hand before climbing on.

Couldn't agree more. I don't understand what I'm watching half the time, but they are very brave.

Just watched pretty much my first game of Ice Hockey, maybe I’m being overly harsh but the goalkeepers (sorry net minders) don’t stop very much do they?

I like the curling, most of the rest where it’s “who goes a fraction quicker” isn’t my cup of tea, especially when I don’t know quite enough about the mechanics e.g skiing/skeleton/luge. Same with athletics though for me.

Personally, I like watching virtually all of the Winter Olympic sports - and admire the bravery, skill and endurance of the athletes involved.
I think events like the snowboard/ski cross and half pipe etc are really exciting and the tricks breath taking - some of the best sports to watch out there imo.
The downhill, ski jumping, luge, skeleton and bobsleigh are all so dangerous and so very impressive (just put yourself in their position for a moment.
Curling so much more exciting than crown green bowls - chess on ice with (as said above), some fascinating tactics.
The endurance levels of the biathlon competitors is something to behold. I believe that competitive cross country skiers are considered by many sports scientists to be the fittest group of athletes on the planet - just look at the state of them when they finish! No hiding place in those events.
The ice hockey can be exciting and often brutal.
I like the carnage that often happens in the speed skating races.
Probably my least favourite events are the figure skating ones - very skilful but the "dancing aspect" of it just isn't for me 🤪

Overall, a higher percentage of it is more enjoyable to watch than the Summer Olympics, I would say (although I enjoy that as well).

Normally love watching the Winter Olympics especially the skiing which l watch every weekend on Eurosport, but on this occasion it just doesn’t sit right with the outdoor events taking place on artificial snow which is awful to ski on. As Bendit as said it's a matter of a few years before they take place in an Arab State indoor snow dome!
