Window going well

Good to see and a welcome boost for the run in. Securing Jordan Rhodes feels almost like a new signing as there must have been a good chance they would drag him back. Looks like Kenny is back in the frame for now at least. Hayden Coulson looks a good addition. Jensen Weir was never going to make an impression and deserves his chance elsewhere. Players coming back to fitness too, we have options. I'd settle now for maybe one more player. A box to box midfielder would be ideal.

A Keith Southern?

How long have Lavery and Kouassi been out? Feels like months. Never just a knock with us injury wise, is it

Forget individual players, the most important requirement this window would be to change the formation. We have Thompson, Lyons and Husband who could play at left back so sadly it looks like this isn't on the agenda with the signing of Coulson.

We have a decent one already called Matty Virtue

Matty Virtue was always described as a box to box midfielder, but he needs game time to prove himself.
Did well at Lincoln

No it’s not a good enough window yet. All we’ve done is ensure eighth is doable. We have to improve service and stop defending so deep. One box to box midfielder por favor.

Top trumping most of those players is having young Rob Apter back with us 👍🏻

How could I forget that one!

Agree, let's hope he gets a chance 👍
Problem is he's cup tied.
He also doesn't want a contract extension
So it's over a week before he's eligible to play again, so 2 weeks lost minutes , so it'll take a good 45 mins playing to get a feeel for that league, but subbed off at half time and shipped out again for a fee before he leaves on a free in summer.

We have the year option, which I'm sure we'll activate, what happens after that though is down to whether Critchley rates him, why he wouldn't I have no idea, Rob has been a hit everywhere he's been so far, but I have a fear for some reason Critchley isn't arsed about him.

He can't leave for a free in the summer. He is under 24 and if the buying club cannot agree a fee with us it goes to tribunal!

Signed a 2 and a half year contract Dec 21,so till June 24 with a further 12 month option, so if we take the option that's June 25 he's under contract to.

How can you say that thus far? Imagine it’s your business. You’re making 60,000 a month profit. You have an aging employee who is having a banner year thus far and is responsible for 35,000 of that profit per month who signs a new contract to take you to the end of the year. You have a good team but you know you have gaps your competitors exploit in marketing and social media. You have a short window to address your gaps. You sign a temp employee for admin but have as yet done nothing for marketing or social media. Would you be pleased? I don’t think so and nor should you be because you’ve not done your job.

This is football not a sock company. For instance, clubs lower down the pecking order do spectacularly well to hang on to loan players who are banging the goals in. Competition is frightening and also unfair in football, always has been. It shows our ambition to have kept Rhodes and still be looking for others to strengthen the squad. Let's see where we are by February.

Slick two step to avoid answering what was asked of you. All we’ve done this window is sign a happy player for six months. I’m glad about that and that should help cement an eighth place finish but we have done nothing to address our shortcomings thus far. At least we agree on what is needed and are hopeful it will be addressed this window. Feel like you manicured the opening post instead of leaving it in its original form.

Our ambition to have kept Rhodes who was not wanted by Huddersfield? Cannot see how this window is doing well our going bad tbh.

Not sure I was looking to be that clever mate. I just think we're doing alright so far as windows go. Particularly given our history. Am I happy about our playing direction and results in the first half of the season? Certainly not.

We don't need new players so much as we need to put the right players in the right places at the right times. A brief spell of Jack Moore, back from Chorley, showed us what decent delivery from wide areas looks like, last night. It's not rocket science!
