A fantastic moment, best moment of his career?
Goodnight.
Don't know if its necessarily that he has stopped running at players, but he doesn't always receive the ball in a way that allows him to run. The give and goes as you said, seem lacking.A fantastic moment, best moment of his career?
He's had some decent moments this season but sadly has just gone right off the boil and his confidence is clearly low.
He does though play well with Rhodes with the give and go. He just needs to get back to running at players, use that pace, it doesn't matter if a few don't come off as some will and when he beats players they aren't catching him.
Hopefully his confidence comes back soon as we'll need him even off the bench.
A great goal and with his right foot...the one that people keep saying is only good for standing on. I noticed his great finish v Bristol R was a right footed strike too.
Goodnight.
Yep all players go in and out of form but for pretty much 40 games out of 46 a season CJ is out of form. He's pretty much a passenger in most games and as a team we can't rely on it being that occasional good day that he has.All players go in and out of form. I loved joining in the CJ olè chant earlier in the season and you could see CJ revelling in it.
However he's simply not playing well at the moment and it's the Manager's job to recognise that and replace him.
For the record I don't actually think Gabriel is at his best either.
I'm not defending CJ and if you go back over my posting history you'll see I've been critical in the past but 4 goals and 6 assists this season isn't actually a bad return.Yep all players go in and out of form but for pretty much 40 games out of 46 a season CJ is out of form. yes Critchley certainly carries some of te blame for playing him on the wrong side and in a position which really doesn't suit him but no matter that you can't blame that on CJ's basic lack of ability. Anyway, there's nothing new being said here, it's all been said before.Play him wide left, tell him to kick it 10 yards in front of himself, use his pace to get back onto it and whip it into the box.
Right wing back my arse, Critchley is just as much to blame as CJ.
Exactly this, pass the ball in front of him on the floor so he can run onto the ball at speed.Don't know if its necessarily that he has stopped running at players, but he doesn't always receive the ball in a way that allows him to run. The give and goes as you said, seem lacking.
And I never understand why, be it CJ, or as I've seen a few times with Bees, we struggle to follow up with support, and leave the like of CJ with no options once he does get into a decent area.
Some players need help from those around to unlock their strengths at times.
It's not rocket science is it? There are/will be many games where the space won't be there because of the way teams play. Simple, don't play him in those games, but play him in game where there will be space behind.Exactly this, pass the ball in front of him on the floor so he can run onto the ball at speed.
Agree, Tuesday night games away at Orient and Cheltenham not for CJIf he was played on his right side in his right position we would all see a different cj. Only critchley to blame for playing him on the wrong side as a wingback all season.
Feel sorry for the lad
You just summed him up in the first paragraph. It's about using the right player in the right situation. The situations where he is effective are obvious, using him any other time is pointless. It's not rocket science is it? The big problem is NC doesn't know what to do with him, he can't decide if he's in for defensive cover because of his speed or as an attacking threat. Make your ** mind up!!
...and have him on the bench to bring him on when we are chasing a game and need to change things.Play him wide left, tell him to kick it 10 yards in front of himself, use his pace to get back onto it and whip it into the box.

Connolly?Nothing like playing someone out of position to highlight them being out of form.
I think you're on shaky ground bigging up Adrian Forbes. He played one full season in Lg1 scoring one goal and hardly featured in the Championship team the following season. CJ is not a natural footballer and came into the professional game relatively late but his stats show he scores and makes goals. And this post is the exact problem we have as a fan base. CJ has a handful of good moments in his Blackpool career and one is scoring an open goal ffs.
He was beyond shambolic yesterday in all aspects and I have no idea why he gets a free pass. Adrian Forbes is twice the player he is. I can’t think of many worse wingers in my lifetime at Blackpool than CJ Hamilton.
Absolutely not. Forbes played at Luton, Norwich and Swansea and was a far better footballer than CJ. And I didn't like Forbes at all.I

Dembele and now Byers have the football ability to bring him into the game especially if he's played further forward and not as a wing-back.

I thought we were talking about their relative Blackpool careers and this season, CJ in 34 appearances has scored 4 goals with 6 assists. Forbes, in his one full season played 35 with 1 goal no details on assists.Absolutely not. Forbes played at Luton, Norwich and Swansea and was a far better footballer than CJ. CJ has to get himself into the game and he doesn't. I'm sick of people defending him. He is a large part of why we were so unsuccessful last year. He makes you play with 10 men and he's done it far too often. We played with 10 men AGAIN on Saturday and won because of how awful Shrewsbury were.
Saturday, watch the full 90 back. He was atrocious. He hasn't had a good game since November.
Exactly. NC hasn't a clue whether he is a defensive player with license to attack or an attacking player with defensive duties.I thought we were talking about their relative Blackpool careers and this season, CJ in 34 appearances has scored 4 goals with 6 assists. I have been one of CJ's biggest critics and fully aware of his shortcomings and would have Jordan Gabriel at right wing-back everyday of the week. I find it hilarious that when we have a corner CJ is sent back to the halfway line to defend against a quick breakaway. He is probably the worst defensive player we have! To cap it all when we are defending a corner he is brought back to defend rather than be the outlet for a quick break!
OMFG look at the comment I put after posting his interview then I listened to itJust listening to coulsons interview who said "the gaffer said if performing well and doing well u will get the place"
So how does that work with likes of CJ and connolly and others
Lol Yeah just seen ure thread... unbelievable... really is. And surely players must see that and piss them offOMFG look at the comment I put after posting his interview then I listened to it
