Where would we be without Norburn

I think he has been excellent so far and you can see why we were relegated. We need at least another two in and we need them quickly or we will be haemorrhaging points unnecessarily..we need a big fast brutish centre forward and a left wing back right now ( I assume Thompson is not in the plans)

Norburn is a class act and the sort of player that we've been crying out for for years. However, I don't think he is going to create loads of chances. I think Carey is at risk of losing his place in this team. He goes missing and doesn't score/assist frequently enough.

It was very interesting during the Hibernian game sitting near the dugout. Critchley was trying to coach Thompson, but every time he did something Critchley turned around and you could tell that he wasn't impressed with him. A loan out where he will start every week and get some experience might do him good.

Thought he had is worst game for us Tuesday and that includes the friendlies I've seen him in.
Well all I can say in response to the above post is that against Port Vale I thought he was our one standout player.

Sadly, I missed those matches in which he featured prior to Tuesday's game, but, if what you say is correct, the displays he produced in those fixtures must've been off the scale ... Bodes well!

The problem I see with having Norburn in the side is it makes us very predictable at the moment because the back 3 look to get the ball to him at every opportunity. The Burton manager worked it out and had him tightly marked in the second half, Exeter tried to do it the entire game and Port Vale had 2 men on him almost every time we got the ball at the back. We need the wing backs to make themselves available as well as another CM if we're to have any chance of playing it out from the back, we need to mix it up, have a plan B, C, D etc and be able to switch at will throughout the game or we'll be in for a very long, hard season! I'd like to think that Critchley is working on this in training and we'll soon see the fruits of that labour. Is that too much to ask?

He is totally right-footed, and there was an instance against port vale of mis controlling the ball and getting tackled then
faking a foul that nearly resulted in a goal. His stats on Wednesday were 65% completed passes. He hasn't got the ability of a fit Kevin Stewart
that is two-footed and he needed another player alongside him in league one. to be effective.

I think the defenders are unable to hit the long Diagonal balls to get the best from the wing back system…I’ve been saying for years that Marvin can’t pass the ball(I was berated for saying as much by some on here who thought he was the messiah) Husband and Casey are also poor at that ball although to be fair to Husband I think he has been putting a real shift in and at times looks our biggest threat going forward.
Norburn Is therefore having to drop in and pick up the ball a la Kevin Stuart so it does get a bit predictable. Trybull would have been useful in this role but clearly there is an issue

It's not a problem as of course it makes space for someone else and if he is clever just drags his marker(s) away and makes that space.

He's a very good player at L1 level. I suspect Pennington will be the same. Less convinced about Morgan however. We still lack creativity through the middle and cutting edge up front. Hopefully Joseph and Weir help with some of that but a centre forward is definitely needed.
