What will the French be saying?

The french will be worrying about themselves and setting themselves up for success. Which is what we should do. If we go for a 3-5-2 it'll be a disaster in my opinion.

Put Walker on Mbappe, he's our best chance. if Mbappe is on it there's nothing we can do.

Spot on Kurt
Walker will be marking Mbappe and despite Mbappes talent he won’t beat Walker for pace.
Southgate is too astute to let his players get sucked into the Mbappe love affair and likewise the players are also experienced enough not to go down that route.
There will be 22 very talented players on show on Saturday and it will be a very exciting (and tactically interesting) game.
WIth our starting XI, plus our strength in depth we certainly have no need to worry about the French and there is no way they will be taking us lightly.

Probably confident that it's just another game for them. They've been at this consistently winning when it really matters business for a lot longer than England have. It's only in the last decade that the FA has just started to try to copy what they've done with Clairefontaine. It took France ten years to win a World Cup after shifting their focus but they didn't have the Premier League as 'product' to compete with as well.

Fascinating match up. I'm not sure about the French defence and Lloris had a blunder in him. Mbappe and Dembele will be a threat.
It's going to be nervy but I think we can edge it. Just hope we end the game with no regrets

Pre-match meal thoughts:-
Them English, they are so clever, they make the bread square so as to fit the Kraft Cheese slices. We did have a moment of inspiration for the advert and produced a square onion.
We must eat something French to give us an advantage. Snails might make us run slower, so they're out. What about frogs legs? Yes, we'll out jump them on every header.
🧡UP THE MIGHTY ENGLAND🧡

Notre site sœur à Paris, Une autre vue de la tour, s'inquiète pour Bellingham, les commentaires merdiques et les mérites relatifs d'un petit-déjeuner à volonté.

They only won the World Cup because Ronaldo had a fit anyway.

They will be planning on stopping our attacking players, probably wondering what players we will be playing given we have so many options in forward areas

As I said the other day they are weak at full back and generally don't press high as a team

They very much leave their front 3 to do their own thing so I hope we can exploit that and get at them down the sides

I think we are a better all round team and will beat them with relative ease if Southgate has a proper go

I just hope Gareth doesn't go all defensive as that will be asking for trouble

Attack them and they will fold

Spot on, pretty confident about this, we've got better players and I'm ignoring the media Mbappe wankfest.

Lots of you having a go at the people of France.
We lived there for 5 years and found the people in general were great folks.
The first day we moved into our house the guy from across the road came over.
He said (in perfect English)'If you need any help 'I'm here for you. Any translation you need help with, I'm here'
We lived in a close outside the village. There were about 16 houses in the close and everyone was helpful and nice.

Just remembered, that same evening after we'd unpacked and eaten I said to MrsDP 'I'm just going down to the end of the Close
for a breather.
As I walked along there were 3 guys talking. One said. in mixed French & English, ' Are you the new people' (or words to that effect, I said 'Yes'.
He immediately told me to get my wife and come in for a drink. MrsDP was ready for bed, she quickly changed and we went down the road.
Very hospitable people who quickly became friends.

Dave, we were there for 20 years and I am still in contact with many of the great folk we made friends with over there. Not much annoys me on here but this anti-French nonsense does get my goat. or, as we might say, ca m'emmerde.

They lack imagination to the extent that when the full back got injured, they brought in his brother.

"hope we can exploit that and get at them down the sides"

I read that and heard it in a John Barnes rap style

Kerry, we've been back a few times, mainly to visit English/British friends we made whilst there.
Obviously we go to see out French friends as well.
Went in May, drove with 2 overnight stops. Approx. 900 miles each way & MrsDP does not drive.
Love it on the Toll Roads, traffic is, in parts, almost non existent.
Most of our friends have returned to UK. Just our special friends there now. (He, Alan, is a Midds Borough fan.) 😉

We went back last autumn for a fortnight and resumed as we had left off with the many friends we had left behind. We were back again this June, but to our son's in the Var where our daughter joined us and we celebrated our golden wedding anniversary. We came home from Bilbao with the car laden with NOZ wine bargains (boxes of South African Shirax at 2€50 a pop!) and Rioja from Al Campo in Irun. Happy Days. Have a good Christmas.

Ooh la la i what the French people will be saying because it is a well evidenced scientific empirical fact that every French person says it at least 50.378 times a day. I thought everyone knew that.
