Great achievement to stay up

Must admit I always thought they would once the players gelled and its fantastic to see a chairman invest in the playing squad whilst also keeping faith with the manger through hard times

Made the City ground a fortress

Proper club all singing from the same hymn sheet

Great footballing story

I mean, they’ve spent ** loads and far more than most clubs in the Prem. Nearly gamble that didn’t pay off.

I don’t see it as a great footballing story Phil, if they stayed up with the original core squad I’d agree. They didn’t. They have Keylor Navas and Serge Aurier for fuck sake.

Great for them they’ve stayed up. Huge gamble. It’s not a good footballing story though. Been pretty shit all season when I’ve watched them.

A proper football club and it wouldn’t surprise me to see them go from strength to strength - like Brighton, Brentford and even Villa have done. They’ll certainly be targeting top 10 and even a run at Europe next season.

People laughed when they signed Morgan Gibbs White and mocked their spending and early season form on this site

Humble pie for some and its no coincidence that they are the only club in the bottom 5 to stick with their manager

I don't see it as a gamble at all, not when you are talking about the millions you get for being in the Premier league

I'm sure some Blackpool fans think football is a money saving contest

At the end of September you wouldn't have thought it possible. Great effort and Cooper has earned his corn in difficult circumstances.

Good luck to them, I’m glad they have silenced their critics. It’s been a refreshing change to see the newly promoted teams stave off relegation and some of the ‘ever presents’ getting knocked down a peg.

Now takes your pick out of Leeds, Leicester, and Everton to join Southampton.

I think that point about keeping their manager is really important. It would have been easy to pot him, but had they gone down he’d have been the perfect manager to take them back.

They’ve spent a fortune and that’s probably down to the owner. Bit of a scattergun approach with some questionable buys. It’s been a huge gamble, but if you’re in it, you should try to stay there.

Forest have spent an awful lot of money but the owner has an awful lot of money to spend.

I think it was a relatively measured gamble on the basis that the clubs in and around Europe are only getting richer and stronger and the void between them and everyone else is deepening. If Forest attempt to grow more organically they’ll remain behind the Villas, Leeds, West Hams, Everton’s and Wolves and Leicester’s of this world and this season only shows big clubs can be drawn downwards quite easily. I think the huge spend this season is an attempt to bridge that gap.
The success of their plan won’t be based on them staying up but what they can do and who they can now attract this summer and where they’ll be next summer.
5/10 years spending £50-100 million each season just to stay up is more crazy than spending £300 million in 1 season if it propels you towards relative success in the shorter term.

I think Leicester are down and unless Leeds win tomorrow, probably them too. Everton will stay up once again due to the failings of others.

Agree, as far as Leicester are concerned but I’ve a gut feeling Big Sam will be having a cosy phone call with Mr Moyes tonight advising him to rest his key players ahead of their ‘big’ European cup final 😂

If they sacked Cooper in September they may have got a spot in Europe next season .
Look at Villa after there terrible start.
Sunshine and Madri all afternoon gives you a different outlook . 🤣

Once the players gelled? They won 3 out of their last 6 games to keep them up - nothing to do with gelling. You don't half spout some shite old boy.

Robbie Savage with his pre- season prediction.

“Its an easy one to see who will be relegated.
All 3 promoted teams will go straight down again.”

Well done Robbie.

As a club I dislike them but I am pleased for the manager. If he has good advice he will take the Palace job on. Nice bloke hope he does well.

And respect to Woy he is a true gentleman deserves a nice retirement.

I’ve always liked Forrest, proper football club, always striving to be the best they can be. Clough and Forrest are legends whether we like it or not. Two time European champs🇬🇧🇬🇧

It fits with Phil's agenda so all is positively rosy

They spent 200 million signing 21 players. "Great achievement to stay up" ??????

We'll be lucky if we spend 2 million on new players this summer

Yep congratulations to the whole squad.

Sky give promoted clubs millions of pounds to spend on players to make the league more competitive

Club spends said millions and gets grief

What a strange outlook some of out fans have

Maybe it's all the years of Oyston indoctrination taking hold

I’m glad they stayed up, but I think even their own Manager who is a top coach, wouldn’t want to have a summer like their last one in the transfer market.

They’ve wasted millions in wages on Jesse Lingard who’s had very little impact as an example, although he did really well yesterday walking round the pitch with his selfie stick. 🤢

Smart, sensible recruitment is the way forward and I’m sure that’s how they’ll go from now.

Gibbs-White is quality, was a massive fee at time but proven worth it.

Leeds spent 100 million when they came up Aston Villa over 100m and Fulham same and got relegated why are Forrest any different?

What did we spend about 3 million and to think most on this site defended the Oystons and their lack of spending

It's no wonder people are being critical of Forest

We have a right strange bunch supporting us
1.25m of the 3m was also to loan DJ as we sold him the following session for the same 1.25m. This is still our record transfer fee 🤢

Careful though, we’ll have BST writing a statement on how Forest have risked everything & it’s not good for football.

The same tone and manner from the person who championed the DJ fee and transfer, that was happy we didn’t spend money on players, for the owner to have an 11m payout that also likes to tell us how to support our team. The equivalent of recommending Fred West to a friend who needs their patio laying.

Strange bunch doesn’t even cover it mate.

Don't forget we couldn't spend money as it didn't come in all at once

Cracking atmosphere in the ground too. Reminded me of our playoff win there. But they didn't intimidate us 🧡

Hopefully Ben's parting gift will be the clause in the Bowler deal that we get an the extra £2 million from Forest for him keeping them up

I want the Geordies to take the piss this summer and completely make a farce of the transfer market.

Then storm the league and show total disdain to the authorities by announcing that it is the Saudi sovereign fund and Saudi national wealth that is doing it instead of building schools.

The football authorities would panic like hell as if you go after Newcastle, then you’re into PSG and others too.
City’s dominance has been amusing as they’ve bought it, but I’d love to see Newcastle show the whole circus up

But lest we forget we are little old Blackpool and lucky to play in League 1 never mind the Premiership. Some of our fans will be happy now we are closer to the level they believe we can be competitive in. I have heard it called our natural level on here but that only happened because of years of financial mismanagement and questionable ownership.

Before 1979 we were a club established in the top 2 divisions so I refute the notion that we should not expect to compete at a higher level. Some of our fans need to "dare to dream" and think what could be with the right sort of ambition and investment. Some will be pleased we are competing with the leviathans of Lincoln, Fleetwood and god forbid Port Vale.

This is a massive crossroads season for Simon Sadler and I dont blame him for taking his time with getting a new manager as he simply has to get it right and he also has to dig deep and invest heavily in the playing side if we are to get back to the Championship. If there is little sign of investment and ambition now then I think it will become a very tough gig for him and the fans will have every right to question what is going on. Lets be honest as fans all we can ask is to be the best we can this season on and off the park.

I am doing some work for a couple who are Forest season ticket holders and I asked them about the amount of players they got in and they said that they had a load of loan players and most of the squad were out of contract at the end of last season so they had to purchase lots of players and it took time for them to gel. It was a risk but it has paid off, they also said they would have been fucked if they hadn't gone up last season.

Well done to them, but of course they can't compare to the brilliance of the scum, thrupence h'penny on players and some sprinklers, they were just reckless with the PL money!

“Made the City ground a fortress” ??
W8 D6 L5... a mid-table home record. But just about good enough, I suppose.
It had to be, since NF have the worst away record in the Prem, having won only once away and drawn 4 times with 13 losses.
But, yeah, glad they stayed up. Hopefully, Leeds to go.

Fair play, they've managed to stay up with 2 points les than us ( yes I know 1 game left, but less than 39 required for safety yet again)

Fulham, Bournemouth, and Forest all had rich owners / parachutepayments, so well done but not a good football story by any means

They spent over 300M didn't they? Is that what you get from sky now a days?
