Weapons Supply to Ukraine

On the news that Poland have stated they will no longer supply weapons to the Ukraine and instead have decided to focus more on arming themselves. Didn’t realise that the 2 countries had fallen out due to Kyivs grain exports. Often wondered who was going to blink first and cease supplying weapons etc didn’t expect it to be Poland!

Poland needs to be very careful because it's only Ukraine that's stopping it being in the firing line as Putin's next target.

Been reading about this this morning, we seem to have heard nothing about this in UK. Apparently with Russia blocking grain exports east, Ukraine sent huge amounts west, totally undermining the price for native grain growers in the adjacent countries. Initially, the EU blocked it, but that has run out. The EU is now at odds with Poland and others, who want to keep the ban. No easy answer to this.

Poland is a Nato member, so if Putin did invade, he’d face massive opposition. He’s also pretty tied up fighting Ukraine, so I can’t see him doing that any time soon, unless other nations stop supplying weapons.

Putin - who is not stupid - would have worked some of this out. That's why the USA is both the key to this and, at the same time, the only thing that could massively raise the stakes.

He’s far from stupid 66. All seems to be very quiet from the Russians these days and has been for several months and he will be frothing at the mouth now knowing cracks are beginning to appear in terms of weapons support to the Ukraine. He knows that the west can’t carry on this level of support and he’s holding the west to ransom through his blockade of grains and fuel, who blinks next will be interesting as Zelensky seems to be throwing rocks at some in the west!

It will take the provision of tactical strike aircraft to enable the Ukrainuan troops to break through. The only way to win an aggressive war these days us with either massive ground superiority or well provisioned medium ground forces supported by aircraft.

Anyone see the article on the BBC lunch time news ref Ukrainian people who have lost limbs in this war?
In the first 6 months more Ukrainians (mostly armed forces personnel) have lost limbs than all British soldiers did in the whole on the Second World War 1939-45 with over 15,000 people affected with amputated limbs, during the WW2 years that figure was 12,000.
Think about that for a moment it’s just horrendous. 😦

To me it makes sense to tie Putin up in Ukraine. Makes no sense to stop arming them to me.
He knows if Trump wins next year that is exactly what will happen.
Polands sudden change of stance is related to their election (surprise, surprise) and is basically in support of their farmers.

Poland should be very careful.
They might be next on Putins' list.
I'm sure that Poland are more than aware of the atrocities that Russia are capable of purportraiting, having suffered from them during the war and subsequently.

Saw that poor guy who had lost an arm from the shoulder, half of the other arm, parts of both legs and skull damage.
Nice to see his gorgeous girl friend (wife?) helping him along.

It highlights graphically why it is always better for humanity when countries come together and work alongside eachother rather than go against. Whilst some here took great offence at rules around perfect shaped bananas, it sure pales into insignificance compared to what Ukrainians are having to suffer.

And had lost both eyes as well Dave so he’s going to have to go through life without arms badly damaged legs skull damage and being blind as well. 😟

Looks like USA is going to provide Ukraine with a small number of ATACMS. Makes all Russian airfields in Crimea/Ukraine practically unuseable, Sevastopol untenable for the Russian Black Sea Fleet and the Kerch Straits Bridge extremely vulnerable to destruction.

Nice to see Canada and the USA agreeing to send more arms to Ukraine.

Canada will supply Ukraine with $650m dollars worth of arms packages which includes F-16’s attack aircraft.

The USA will supply Ukraine with long range tactical missiles.

Breaking news this evening although to be conformed is Ukraine have struck a devastating blow in Crimea where what is believed to be a storm shadow cruise missile has hit a Russian sea port causing extensive damage and killing a Russian Admiral.
