I think a reasonably simple analogy of where Mr Sadler and his cohort of senior management currently are in relation to how we, the fans see things ...... (and I'm sure a lot of us have done it), is the 'January gym membership scenario'
1st Jan.... Buy a gym membership, go balls out, bells and whistles, and even chuck in a personal trainer, because if I do that, I will be an adonis in 12 months, and the past 50 odd years of neglect and abuse that I've given my body will simply be replaced by rippling muscle and that will all be down to me spending loads on it...
Feb..... I've been 'going to' the gym everyday for over a month now, and the only poundage I seem to be shifting is from my bank account.
I know, I'll dispense with a knowledgeable personal trainer, and buy a book about training, 'cos it's just the same but a cheaper option right?!!
I'll stick with the exercises I have been shown, because I'm comfortable with them, and they'll come good eventually.....
March.... There have been a few days in February (more than a few if I'm honest), where I've skipped going to the gym.
I told myself that the excuses I've used to 'not go' are perfectly valid, but I will never accept that my initial enthusiasm has waned..
It's cost me a king's ransom to get to this stage of apathy, but I can get back into it....
End of March...... I've not been back to the gym at all. It was a bit of a fad, but I just can't be ar*ed anymore.
I'll just forget about the membership, and let it lapse.
It's all just too much bother really.
I wish I'd never bothered in the first place!!
