Virtue , Stewart and Ward

It seems a while since we've had an update on these 3 ( unless I've missed it) . I assume midfield will be strengthened during
the window anyway but in would be nice to know just generally when they might be back available.

Virtue was a guest on the preview show a couple of weeks back. I don't think he put a time limit on his return but it sounded like he was making good progress. I think he will be named in he squad at the end of January.
Ward is a long way off still.
Stewart is always "not far off".

We are simply not getting a return or value for money on Stewart. Sure, he's a good player but he's not a good player when he's on the treatment table far more than the pitch. We took a chance with him and it's not really paid off so it's perhaps time to release him when his contract is up. Or get him off the books before then if possible. He's just one of these players who is so injury prone.

Why not, encourage more fans on match day
Everyone who wants to attend probably is attending. I can't believe there are many put off by ticket prices that genuinely want to attend games. I certainly aren't looking for a reduction in prices as long as what I pay is channelled in the correct way and that certainly seems to be happening under SS.

We are in a higher division, with a better standard of football , competing against teams with so much more money , with our fabulous new owner & yet Matesrates wants a price reduction on match day tickets………unbelievable Jeff !
Just a suggestion pal, get a life

the cynic in me says Stewart is nearly fit and ready to return and play til the end of the season to try and get another contract.

He got another one in the summer. 18 month contract signed January 21, 2+1 signed June 21.

So yes he's probably due a new one!

I also get the impression that he has already moved on. His property tweets and the way he rarely ever mentions football, let alone Blackpool, would indicate that mentally he's moved on as well as physically. Sadly a gamble that as 20's says hasn't paid off.

Isn't Virtue back in light training?
I think he's been allowed to look at some grass. For a controlled period of time Familiarisation process but no over exposure.

Seems odd we gave him a new contract in these circumstances, but also seems like a decent way to treat him.

The Stewart thing is less understandable really. We gave him a new longer contract in June having only given him a contract in January. Given all this property shenanigans, do we have a contract that is specific to his circumstances? I guess it's none of our business but you wonder, as a fan. We need him, but he's injured, but he's obviously very busy with his business empire! If he wasn't injured would his property empire be on hold?

It's all a bit Bezzy....

I think Virtue will come back strongly. It is right we do not rush him, but I think he has the mental strength to get over his injury. I also think he will go on to be a competent Championship player
