Whatever happened with the hand to ball intent? The Sheff defender had no chance there and you normally put your arms out for balance, other than players wearing straight jackets l don’t know what the answer is to these farcical decisions!

I'm glad the ref gave it, because SU were dirty feckers when we played them & they earned us a big fine for the altercation they caused.

I really hate these ridiculous hand ball penalties with a passion. It makes a mockery of everything.

Probably not, but I’d rather nobody got penalties under these new rules.
PS the one Man City got in midweek was utterly ridiculous, and we’ve had them in World Cup Finals already as well.

How the fuck are you supposed to judge whether a handball is ‘intentional’ or not? It’s a totally subjective and frankly ridiculous notion, hence why it was scrapped and replaced.
The current rule is straightforward enough… If your arm is in an unnatural position, then it’s a penalty…. and 100% rightly so..
Whether or not you can “get your arm out of the way” is completely irrelevant… if your arm is sticking out and it blocks the flight of the ball that’s handball (you’ve gained an advantage by virtue of the fact that you’ve extended your blocking capacity with an illegal body part). Tough shit !
