Vaccine ? No Thanks

CM... From a personal perspective I tend to start from the point where I won’t take any kind of medication / vaccine unless it’s absolutely necessary.

I don’t think that’s unreasonable... I’m not at an age (being under 50) or in a situation where I should take flu vaccine and so I don’t bother.

So coming at it from my own perspective, I can see why people would not just simply want to be injected with a whole cocktail of vaccines without any pressing need.

I also think there are some genuinely held concerns about profiteering within the pharmaceutical industry. So I can also understand why people might question the motivation for increased vaccination and also long term medications.

To that extent, for me, it’s not just as simple as categorising people as “Anti-Vaxxers” and simply categorising them as a bit mad or whatever.

So where appropriate, I am inclined to respect personal choice and recognise that it’s not unreasonable for people to make their own decisions on vaccines...After all, we don’t all think the same.

The challenge however is when it comes to infectious diseases and where wide scale vaccination is needed to eradicate disease or create herd immunity to protect us all.

Again though, I would prefer to put the onus on the vaccine companies, governments and medical institutions to persuade people of safety and efficacy and have people willingly comply to be vaccinated, than to force or pressure people.
