I don't hate Neil, I didn't like the way he left. I felt he was probably the right man to come back and do it but he'd have hard some hard graft on his hands to win the fans around. Fans are stubborn, he'd probably get us to a CL final and someone still wouldn't like him.
I've said it all season long really, my main issue is when he's stuck to a formation that hasn't worked. We've been 2-0 previously and he's kept the same shape and then like for like players. He's never once tried something different or at least rarely has.
We've had some great home form without getting Bloomfield Road rocking bar the odd occasion, we've shown in small glimpes that this league is utter pony and we could have really challenged but we haven't down to poor recruitment both into the club and out of the club and this rigid formation.
Persisting with players when they are bang out of form, dropping players randomly and playing players in positions they aren't natural at or comfortable with.
Whatever happens tomorrow, we gave it a go when we basically had no chance. The pressure is off, win the game. Enjoy the day. Clap the lads off after a hard difficult at times season. And if the against all odds happen, we all know what occurs next.
Neil has some serious thinking to do over the summer, if he has the same approach with the same sub standard players next season we'll do the same thing. We can't go into next season playing players like CJ/Beesley/Kouassi/Virtue/Lavery and probably more and having to rely on them to be a major difference when simply it's clear they aren't good enough.
