Thought I'd take a look at what they were saying about us afterwards thanks to 18 Years Free Trial's links and to be honest there was way more about how shit they are this season than many mentions about us. But here's a selection...

"Blackpool could have had many more, and although posters on here will maybe say otherwise they aren't a good side and yesterday we made them look good. 2nd half they took the foot off the gas abit and looked for the counter but our attacks were so toothless.

There was a moment when we had a free kick in their half they cleared and had 5 players through on goal thankfully it came to nowt but the difference in desire was on show their players busted a lung to get forward.

Blackpool are lucky they edged it

Worst performance in years, still not home and several hundred pounds lighter.

Kenny Dougall isn’t good enough for the championship. That’s why when he left us he ended up at Blackpool. Great player for us and no animosity.

Is that, "Not good enough for Barnsley" Kenny Dougall I see in the victorious Blackpool team?

I thought they were full of energy and looked like they had a plan until they faded in the last 20mins, but we couldn't capitalize on it.

A team with a plan and round pegs in round holes would have put these to bed fairly easily today IMO .

Looks like Blackpool have won their cup! Celebrations are mad!

Fair play to them. Their fans had a lot to put up with, they deserve sone good times.

I was impressed with Blackpool

Could have lost that by 3 being honest..."'

Unsurprisingly concentrating on their own shitness rather than the sheer brilliance of the mighty but that's footy fans for you

We could end up in the premier league on the back of other clubs making us look good...

Seriously though, one win could be a fluke or underserved, but three wins out of four is just starting to suggest that we're better than some opposition fans are giving us credit for. Long way to go though.

Funny how we aren't a good side yet took points off Bournemouth and full points off Fulham etc, had a hat full of chances against Barnsley and yet we could do so much better with finishing.

We will remain no good to teams and keep getting points off them. 🙄

Won our cup? Against Barnsley lol... we celebrate every goal and win because we absolutely love it. Its called being passionate, we don't just sit there silent all game like they did.

Some weird comments there.

People have bought into the fact because we've just gone up and that because we started slow were no good.

The thing is weve seen this before last season. When you are bringing lots of new players it and taking time to gel and only complete the business on deadline day, it takes time and once we gel we are much improved.

It's been said many times before but we do need to sharpen up and be more clinical in front of goal. Whenever the opposition finds themselves 1 v 1 in front to Maxi and they fluff it I always thinks to myself, thank christ they're not that good

Barnsley? Fucks sake, no, that's how passionate clubs celebrate a win, now fuck off back on t'moors with t'whippets.
Because of course when Barnsley win they just offer a polite round of applause to the team and softly chuckle to themselves.

They have to feel better about something though. There was also a comment I noticed calling the place cesspool (the nobbers may claim copyright there) and then they get back on a bus to ** Barnsley. What a treat that would be...

We absolutely do need to improve that however we had a lot more chances then them and were the the bettwr side.

Teams keep wanting to say ohhh we had a bad performance.

Funny how many have them when we get a result.

Its not down to our pressing and energy is it? Hmmm.

Maybe Thatcher was right...

There is this weird arrogance at this level like each club is a super club. Barnsley Football Club. Honestly. If they vanished no one would remotely care.

i thought their players worked really hard yesterday, particularly closing down, often three on keshi similar with Bowler and always two on Lavery or TJJ. It should have left spaces but mostly didnt because they covered well, but when in particular keshi skinned his markers there were acres of space. i dont think it would have been unfair if we had got three yesterday. From that showing i think Barnsley might struggle, but they have a relatively new team and i think a new manager so might take until christmas to find their feet. they have some good players their number four reminded me a bit of charlie adam.

I've thought that too, it's bizarre isn't it. I remember a couple of years ago we sold Tilt to Rotherham who were in the championship and their fans were acting like it was a monumental step up for the lad going to them from a club like ours. Rotherham FFS!

They doubled and tripled up on Bowler and Keshi and I think we are going to see a bit more of that

We need to think about how we exploit the space that leaves. I'm sure NC is already on it.

We were that bit better than them and deserved the win.

they are not passionate because they sit round all day drinking yarkshire tea dulls the senses lol

We started the season as the team most expected to struggle, according to the bookies, the pundits and fans of other clubs. So these fans feel embarrassed when we beat their teams, and react accordingly, some of them. A bit childishly. We should be beating Blackpool! We were shit! We have fans who do exactly the same thing.

As fans go, Barnsley aren't so bad. The majority seem pretty fair minded. You can't expect opposition fans to credit us, it'll be a common theme again this season, any win will be down to them being poor, not us being good.

He’s the kid that played a lot of games for Man Utd when Shaw was injured. A great signing at this level
That was Brandon Williams at United, he's on loan at Norwich this season. Just checked and Barnsley's left back is Ben Williams and he was born in Preston and played for Blackburn previously.

Firstly, good support from Barnsley, but very subdued. They were toothless as some of their fans note and they could have punished us a few times. They were better than Boro but clearly looked like a team who may struggle.

The Barnsley fans got behind their team ... until they went behind, at which point they were almost silent. That's not what good supporters (like our North) do, they get behind the team & encourage them.
We were the better team until we appeared to tire in the last 20 minutes, even then I didn't think they'd score AND their fans were still hopeless in their support.
The plaudits have rightly gone to a few named players, but I would like to yet again praise Max, who when called upon was was brilliant.
A poster last week (he knows who he is) slated Max and I hope he regrets that now!

I always take fans' comments with a mine of salt. In the same way as we win, the ref was decent, or non existent, and we lose and he was crap.

Their fans were streaming out with 10 minutes to go. Clearly didn't expect to get an equaliser.
