I presume with the 2.5 million salary cap we will have to get a few out before bringing in I wouldn't expect much to happen but we are desperate for a striker.

If we can shift 2 or 3 of our fringe players we only need a striker in and Ballard to extend in my opinion. It won't be easy getting some of players out however.

Would you keep Walker when Maxwell is back or a bit pointless as neither would want to be on the bench?

Although Walker is a really good keeper, I agree with Critchley's policy of only having one decent keeper on the books, we can use the additional salary on getting a third centre forward in.
 
We have kept one salary and space free so at least one in then others to replace anyone going out. Plus Woodburn will prob go back not in squad tother day so another loan there.

Dangerous policy.. Sims and Fotijek are clearly not up to it. He could just get rid of some of the useless deadwood we have. 28 players on our books right now, not including first year pros.
There’s room for two experienced keepers if rubbish like Sarkic, Howe and the like can be moved on.

So send them out on loan and see what they can do elsewhere let's face it there going lower down the pyramid so we are going to foot most of their wages anyway.
 
The only problem with trying to get Walker in he's going from one bench to another as no way NC would drop his captain only problem when it's your goalkeeper.
Would he come under those circumstances.

Absolutely right. They could work but we aren't seeing them. I suppose it's fairer to say, if NC isn't going to play them, they should go out.

That's probably the best option. I can only suppose their lack of appearances in the 1st team squad indicates they are not impressing in training but that is just guesswork on my part.
 
Some interesting comments.

The only thing I’d say is, I think we already have talented players for the middle of the park. Robson can pick a pass, Dougall and Virtue are the tough tackling engines. Kai Kai, Anderson and probably Sarkic are creative and direct sorts of players that can drive through from the midfield. CJ and Bez seem to be out an out wingers.

Woodburn and Kemp could literally be anything I’m not real sure at this point.

my point being that I think we have the personnel, for what ever reason it hasn’t clicked yet.

If Critch feels that the 433 really is the best way to go we’ll probably need to change people like Robson, Kai Kai, Anderson and Sarkic as they’re stuck in no mans land between formations and we’d be better going for another CJ type.

If we’re to mix up formations I’m not sure we need more players outside of a striker, possibly two as Critch and Madine have had multiple bust ups.
 
CJ's hamstring injury is a worry. Explosive players who rely almost exclusively on their pace tend to fall foul of hamstring injuries which can plague them throughout their career. Fingers crossed he returns soon and stays clear of injury in the future.

Yates and Madine up front.

I think a creative goal scoring mid-fielder alongside Ward & Dougall would be perfect to supply the new goal scoring striker alongside Madine & Yates.
Where's that bottle with the genie in??

Do you not think we already have that in the squad though Insy?

Not a pop, a genuine question as I can’t be the only one that thinks one of Anderson, Robson, Ward, Kai Kai or Sarkic could be a decent attacking midfielder if we played with one. Because none of them are wingers or wide midfielders.

I think Sarkic is probably your man at the point of a midfield three, Kaikai and Anderson have both stated somewhere that they see themselves in the front two .
