Trains on Sunday

First one from Blackpool 9am gets into London 13.18 too rushed.
I checked this morning before replying to Pelada on Bus's thread

Even if you go from Preston earlier you are looking at three changes and either 5-6hrs to get to Euston

That's the first semi-normal one and that's still 4hrs plus - and gets you there very late

Part of the route is getting a coach anyway it makes no sense to get a train.

If I’m lucky enough to get a ticket(which I doubt 😪😪😪😪) I will go in the car and take 3 locals to save them travel costs

For anyone who is still looking at going on the train I have 2x spare advance single tickets (FOR THE JOURNEY BACK ONLY) on Sunday evening back from Euston to Manchester on the 19.55 service that gets back to piccadilly at 23.14. Important to be aware the tickets are for this named service only and that there are no trains back to Blackpool from Manchester after that arrives.

So, it won't suit anyone who needs to get back over here on Sunday night, but I see people are talking about routes to/from Manchester so might be of use.

Basically I've now been able to book tickets out of euston slightly earlier that connect to the last train out of piccadilly to get us back to Blackpool, rather than just Manchester, so these ones we previously booked (in a bit of a rush on Friday after the game as we knew we wouldn't get any trains down to London from anywhere other than Manchester on Sunday morning) are going spare. We're still using the tickets out of piccadilly on the 8.05 Sunday morning as theres no better alternative to those.

Tickets cost just under 50 quid for the pair, so it's not the end of the world if we have to just keep them and not use them, as that's still less than the alternative of stopping over somewhere or getting a cab back to Blackpool or whatever, but it's a shame to have 2 seats on a service that is probably close to being fully booked on the booking sites now, not being used if people are wanting to use them, and it's probably a lot cheaper for someone than what's still available to book now with it being an advance ticket.

Slight caveat is that they're booked with a two together railcard, so you'll need one of those for the 2 people who are traveling (they're 30 quid and last for a year, and save you a third off all fares, so it pays for itself just on this trip if you're going there and back on the train as it's saved 25 quid on these 2 tickets already). You can get a digital one that you have on an app on your phone so no delays waiting for the card to be posted out etc. if you don't already have a railcard.

So anyone who can find a train down there for themselves, let me know and happy to give you these for the price we paid for them which might save someone some money, or open up another option if the service is now sold out.

In the unlikely event of a stampede of interest, first person to say they want them can have them.

Will sort logistics of getting tickets to you (although it's the return journey so can just meet somewhere at wembley) if anyone is interested.

All this is assuming we get tickets for the game later on, otherwise I might have more train tickets available!

Not too bad from where I am but very few trains on a Sunday so will get the train into Waterloo rather than Paddington.
Planning to be in that there London around 11 and let the gallivanting commence !!!

Shocking north of the border, so it will have to be the motor and kip somewhere on the way back, if I can get a ticket.

They have only had 14 months to fix the lines and carry out essential maintenance, cmon lads give them a break 🤬🤬
