Total war!

As vote counting continues in key states, the president has repeated unsubstantiated claims of fraud and his campaign is challenging several state tallies in court.

A senior campaign official told CBS that Trump would not concede just because Biden declares victory.

Meanwhile his son Donald trump Jr urged his father to "go to total war over over this election", in a post flagged by Twitter as misleading.

The Republican legislature in PA refused to allow postal votes to be counted before Election Day, knowing this would help Trump’s narrative that the election was stolen. Unfortunately there are plenty of gullibles willing to believe him!

Different states have different rules about when you can start counting mail in ballots. The ones that begin early (before Election Day I believe in some cases) also finish earlier.

Plus I’m sure there’s a devious Democrat plan to extend the torture of Trump and his acolytes by dragging out the final result as long as possible. (That was a joke by the way. I’m only pointing it out because the Trumpettes appear to be losing their sense of humour at the moment).

Started by saying a certain surname appeared more than twice but with different addresses the counter got suspicious and reported it so counting was suspended for the day, not sure what state it was but think it was Pennsylvania.
If that’s not dodgy then I don’t know what is.

It sounds to me like they were reporting a Trump generated unsubstantiated rumour, rather than a fact. Lot of it about at the moment.

They followed it up with a woman who said she'd never voted, but her vote was there. When they checked, her signature was on the ballot, and she said "Oh, is that a voting slip?". Trumpites stirring it up.

Same as the picture of ballot papers being burned. They were not from this election, but samples that officials had been practicing on.

Dirty tricks out in force to delegitimise the election. Doesn't mean it's not the will of the people.

What more that two people at different addresses in the same county having the same surname?

Pennsylvania's count suspension was a storm in a teacup ; despite being represented in the count the GOP wanted more people there and to be able to stand a bit closer. They were allowed that, but they ALWAYS had people in the count - it is standard practice everywhere. There is nothing happening there that seems dodgy or unexpected :

  • the polls in Pennsylvania consistently showed JB 5% or so ahead, and in fact his lead will be quite a bit less than this by the time it is all over
  • the delay in Pennsylvania is because by LAW in that statute they couldn't start counting mail notes until the polls opened on Thursday
  • the other major battleground is Georgia, which has a Republican Governor and a Republican running the count. Trump lashed out at them last night too
  • if you studied this at all you will know that Democrat voters were consistently advised by their Party to vote early if they could to avoid making the COVID situation worse. Trump told his people not to trust the mail - not least because he was intentionally starving it of the funding capacity it needed to handle the national surge in mail in the run up to the Election

The irony in all this is that if the count was stopped everywhere now Biden would win because he is ahead in Nevada and Arizona, which is all he needs. But what Trump wants is for the count to stop only in the places where he is winning. For God's sake Jaffa, don't take everything he says as Gospel and think critically for yourself.

If you’ve been watching the coverage, there has been all manner on nonsense raised by the Republicans. Whether it’s they were forced to mark ballots with Sharpy pens, meaning ballots would be discarded, to various accounts of votes being doubled, one proven to be fake assertion was that more people had voted than actually existed on the register!

Trump supporters have turned up armed in Arizona and one man has been arrested over night for planning some kind of raid on a polling station.

Local Representatives have provided consistent updates on the vote counts and answered questions relating to alleged issues with voting, reiterating the safety and care taken during the process (especially in areas where voting is tight).

I've no idea what that means, but never mind. I'm just saying that he tells lies all the time, and some very obvious ones last night. Georgia being run by Democrats being a good example.

And ask yourself a question - do you think he would be doing all this if he really thought he was winning? He's been preparing the ground for months.

As a "rightie" can you provide any actual proof of any wrong doing, other than unsubstantiated twitter rumours and Trumps own mad ramblings?

If not accepting anything and everything that Trump spouts, despite him being proven almost on a daily basis to be a pathological liar makes someone a "leftie" then I think your view of politics is a little skewed.

Peace agreements between Israel and Arab states.

A lot of these things are firsts too!
