Good chance to see if Barnsley or Peterborough really do have any fight to stay in the Championship?

Birmingham City v Peterborough United
Coventry City v Stoke City
Luton Town v Bristol City
Nottingham Forest v Barnsley
Queens Park Rangers v Swansea City

Birmingham are n't doing well themselves so Peterboro will think they have a chance of getting a result there. Forest you would expect to beat Barnsley with the form they are both in. But footballs a funny old game so you never know.

So much negativity. 8 points off the play offs and some people are still looking down instead of up

wins for Peterborough, Barnsley and Swansea, draws in the other two

…… and then 3 points on Saturday 👍
no negativity at all. Thought it was a thread about tonights games. I just offered my opinion on two of them.

Half times:

Birmingham City 0 v Peterborough United 1
Coventry City 0 v Stoke City 0
Luton Town 1 v Bristol City 0
Nottingham Forest 2 v Barnsley 0
Queens Park Rangers 0 v Swansea City 0

Ignoring our own performance for a second, tonight showed why I'm not concerned with relegation. Posh 2-0 up with five minutes to go and as comfortable as you like. Three minutes later, 2-2 and they're hanging on for a point. They have absolutely no idea how to close out a game and that's why they've only one away win all season.

And Barnsley can't buy a point either.

It's three from the bottom five for me. Barnsley are effectively down already and Reading are in freefall and look like they're going to keep the manager for the season no matter what happens. Could be a really low points total to stay up.

still think 40 pts will prob do it. In fact in terms of PPG we already have enough to finish above Barnsley and Peterbrough.

That s the worst case scenario I think now, a little run would make things interesting, should be able to relax and enjoy the rest of the season
yeh, I agree with you in theory about relax and enjoy from a safety pov.. But if you're like me, every game still matters and you still kick every ball and analyse all the details of a game and get frustrated and angry with poor performances and elated with good ones.

Although the last 2 games have gone our way, I’d hardly say we have much idea how to see a game out. Against better opposition than Hull & Millwall I doubt we would have ended up with 6 points.
Yes we did and it’s proved to be a massive 6 points but let’s hope we learn from it and make life easier in the closing stages.

I'm sure Peterborough must be playing with a fly-keeper this season the amount of goals they concede.

A win and two draws and can’t see anyone near the bottom catching us. Should go Shit or bust every game starting with Fulham could still make the play offs.

And yet we did exactly the same thing against the best team in the league. And away to Sheff Utd. Two very good teams. We are definitely capable of digging in when necessary - that doesn't mean we always get it right though.

Just to think we had played 4 more games than most clubs only just a few weeks ago - now it’s almost equal again and we sit nicely nestled in the middle of the table.

We’ve spent hardly anything on transfers and wages compared to the rest. We are living seemingly within a sensible budget range and doing so with a young team and relatively inexperienced management team.

This is exactly how a club should be run.

I’m not sure the stats back up your perception.
I reckon there’ve been 8 games this season where we’ve had a single goal lead after 80 minutes. We’ve gone into win 7 of those and drawn the other (Hull).

Is there a financial differential to where we finish in the league in terms of prize money, or is it a set amount just for being in the division?

personally I’d rather trust my eyes rather than stats. I’m not saying we haven’t seen them out but we could make it easier on ourselves and avoid leaving anything to chance.
