Theatin on?

I feel like there should be some kind of support group along the lines of the Samaritans or AA or gamblers anonymous for those of us who are wavering with our fingers on the button, about to give in to temptation like me tonight. I’ve survived this time but what about when the temperature drops below 10. I’m just not sure I’ve got the willpower.

First time on tonight just remembered what a faff it is topping up water level then having to bleed all the radiators.

Same here. Succumbed tonight. One hour bleeding and balancing radiators first 🙄 prob need adjustment next few days too. Probably saved 10 days already I’m normally fully heated by mid sept!

Me too normally mid Sept but have cheekly dropped the thermostat by a couple of degrees see if the wife notices.😁

In all seriousness, for anyone who wasn't aware of them, can I advert thermal tops.

When i heard thermal vest, I wasn't sure what to expect, but they're just a thicker t shirt. M&S do a good one short or long sleeved.

I've got several, they're a good base layer. Certainly get me through the autumn floodlit matches and winter home games. Have one for home use this winter.

Lined jeans 👍

Just crumbled.

Came in earlier from walking the Dog piss wet through and bloody freezing never thought 15 degrees in the house felt so cold. 🥶

Anyway I’ve managed to 2nd November and it’s only a boost for a couple of hours honest. 🙄

There's being sensible and being tight. I've had the heating on 19.5 all day and it's cost me £7. Reasonable size house.

Managed to get out for a run this evening - wind assisted. Wasn’t too bad earlier.

Just blown a pot over outside and now it’s broken.

Heating still off. If it gets any colder, I might even put a jumper on. 😁

We’ve had it on but much less than usual. Now wear warmer clothes & have set the stat down. Will reassess when it’s freezing 🥶

Just for information, an average 28kwh combi boiler will now cost £2.88 each and every hour ! So your potentially looking at around £10 - £12 a day when it gets really cold .

Closed the bedroom window for the first time last night, nowhere near heating time down south yet. The Mrs says she's cold but I think I can get through the winter with the heat she radiates, like sleeping next to a furnace.

Being sea people we should be able to handle the turning weather better than most. That's what I've always had in my head anyway.

If my wife complains about cold, I get her doing Star Jumps and Burpees for 15 minutes.
That keeps her quiet.
😁

Mrs put it on last night for a few hours. I was happy to swap my shorts for long pants & wear a thin sweatshirt. Back room didn’t come on. So I guess that’s tonight’s job.
