Missing out on Brannagan appears to be this windows 'nearly man' maybe Owen Dale will become the 2nd. The 2 I will throw into the mix are Mark Carter from Barnet back in the 90s, I was gutted at the time. Probably the biggest miss was the loan for Shay Given in January 2011, whom I'm sure would have been the difference that season. Any others people vividly remember being gutted about?

shay given would 100% kept us in the prem

Good shout, I think it was close and we ended up with Preece instead.
We already had Preece, Quinn, Ellis & Watson..Allardyce wanted Goater from Rotherham (when the window use to shut in March) for a final push for promotion, but Owen knocked it back.

As said above, the Shay Given one was tough at the time but in retrospect was a bloody good thing in the long run.

We could have signed Vardy but Joffrey the clown used his massive expertise instead.

David Nugent went fishing and forgot his phone, when we were in the Prem. That may have made a difference, and stopped us signing 3 pub players in January.

Missing Vardy was one of the biggest acts of incompetence in a list of hundreds under Oyston.

On another tack I would love to have been a fly on the wall in KOs office when he offered Robbie Fowler £90 a week to sign for Pool 😁

Where do you start on this one?

Malcolm Smith
Jon Newby
Brett Pitman

for starters.

There have been a few allegedly on the way then turned back. Carter from Tranmere Rovers decided his fruit and veg stall gave him a better income.

There was that chap from Margate a few years ago that got all the way up to the M55 and then turned back home before signing? Probably too cold for him 😂

Mehdi Benatia would have cost us €100,000 whilst playing in the French Second Division… KoKo thought it was too much and the lad went on to join Udinese on a free 6 months later and then amass over £70 million in transfer fees playing for Roma, Juventus and Bayern Munich along the way.

Good shout Karl 😂
