Another absolute masterclass from the worst and most deluded commentator in the history of football. Slagging the Blackpool fans off again and playing the holier than thou card...this clown Oyston collaborator should be nowhere near the club. Constantly getting the identity of our players wrong and stealing a living.

I take it you mean slagging off the idiot minority of fans for throwing flares/smoke bombs on to the pitch and then holding the game up?
So what should he do applaud them for there stupid actions?
Spot on for me the idiots out yet again spoiling a game.

That post says a lot about you but nothing about Chisnall.

I actually cannot believe I’m reading this!!
firstly I’ve never heard a chisnell commentary since about 1997 and he was a tosser then, by all accounts he is anti Blackpool fans , therefore the bloke should be nowhere near the club.
as for the few smoke bombs, make no mistake the players absolutely love it and all 10 outfield players made the point of running to where they were coming from, no harm done whatsoever and they add to the match experience 👍🏻

I lost count of the number of times he identified the wrong player. I know Beesley is quick (allegedly) but to suggest he can walk off the pitch on one side of the pitch yet manage to be in the box a few seconds later is stretching it.

I actually preferred the moments when Thomno was recounting stories from the glory days.

I think you are wrong on all counts. No need for an argument but I disagree with you.

Maybe there's reasons why he struggles to identify players...

What do we actually want from an amateur broadcaster? OK, when I listen to the match on Lancs I want more action described - that it doesn't happen is a fault of all their match broadcasters. However, I've not got the inclination to hate Ian Chisnall. When he's commentating, it's a reassuring voice from someone who supports the club. The important stuff comes from his co-commentator: Thommo, Michael Jackson, err ..Brett.

His hapless ramblings and confusing epithets are funny enough most of the time. We all know he was firmly in the Oystons' pocket all along but he'll have to live with that.
What really grated today was his comments about the minute of applause for the young Barnsley fan who recently lost his fight for life. A bit of research would have unearthed this fact surely? Or if he didn't know the reasons, just keep things simple. Instead he went into a lengthy and frankly bizarre ramble in which he pondered who the applause might be directed towards, ending with words to the effect "we wish them well". Oh dear.

Now that is a reason to criticise him. I didn't know that. Worth saying.

How would he not know? It stemmed from the original fixture date and has been all over social media🙁

He’s absolutely fuckin useless & totally disrespectful to not know about that as both clubs posted it today, but I can imagine his opinion on social media being something along the lines of…

“They talk about people posting things online Brett, the only things I remember getting posted were my dangly bits at high school by the strapping boys in 5th year on the large metal upright pole in the boys toilets… it still makes my eyes water now… anyway moving on here’s Jordan Gabriel now for Blackpool apologies no it’s not it’s Chris Maxwell”

The guy is an absolute clown.

Spot on👍🏻 Hopefully speak after game on Saturday 👍🏻

Chisnall is a Blackpool fan who commentators reasonably well - with quite a few errors.
I get that all this is your opinion but a few things.

He’s not a Blackpool fan, he was born in Barrow and supports Everton - go figure.

Plus I think you have that description the wrong way his commentary is filled with errors and a few correct points. He’s objectively a terrible commentator, I’m really struggling to figure out what you find good about his comms? A reassuring voice really isn’t that.

What do we actually want from an amateur broadcaster?
what makes all of the above worse is that he is in fact a professional commentator paid and employed by Radio Lancs for professional level comms.

I’ve met him once or twice years ago, I’m glad there wasn’t a third meeting. The word tosser comes to mind.

Not having a go, as I say your opinions on him. But for me his commentary is regularly way off describing what’s happening on the pitch, it’s littered with errors ( basic ones at that) and he feels the need to interject his own quirky input when as you say that should be left for the experts.

This is before you even start to factor in his ridiculing of the boycott and protest and general pro Oyston comments.

I can see you've done a job on him. I don't disect the man to that level.

Just one thing. His profession is teaching. He may get paid by the BBC, I don't know, but he is very much an amateur broadcaster.

I’ve made a couple of points tbh. As you have.

I know it’s late, but do you need me to link you the definition of a professional? I don’t think I really do because you actually just described it there.

I think I’m right in saying he retired from teaching years ago.

You’re on a bit of a sticky wicket here mate. You’ve still not really backed up why he’s objectively a good commentator. Just he reassures you.

I'm not at all claiming he's a good commentator. All I'm saying is that he's Blackpool's commentator, with an empathy for our Club. I have no reason to do him down, and certainly not because he mistakes the odd player for someone else. The issue about the 7th minute applause - he should have researched that. I'm not a cheerleader for him but I think he takes too much criticism off here.

Fair enough. Like I say your opinion.

I honestly think he doesn’t get enough stick.
He’s beyond useless and literally anyone in the world could be Blackpool’s commentator but it wouldn’t make them right for the job.

Radio Blackburn obviously don’t give a flying Fuchs about us but I think we just deserve a well informed competent commentator for our fans to listen to. 👍

It's local radio mate. They're fighting for their lives at the moment. If Ken Bruce was a Blackpool fan I'd take him like a shot. But it isn't like that. Let's keep who we have, grating mistakes and all.

The OP is angry at Ian Chisnall. I understand that. But, times have moved on and Chisnall is a Blackpool fan who commentators reasonably well - with quite a few errors. I think the OP is letting his anger rule his head over something that doesn't warrant it.
No he doesn't. He's one of the worst footballing commentators I've ever heard. He gets players wrong, he gets plays wrong and he's at the ** games. Throughout COVID it was laughable at how poor he was at his job, if I performed like him at my job, my company would lose millions of pounds.

He is absolutely atrocious and genuinely the worst Blackpool commentator ever. He shouldn't be in that job. I'd rather listen to nothing at all than him ever again.

Complete agree with the OP.

Only delayed the game cos they took about 5 minutes to clear them off the pitch.
Stewarding policy was to leave them until they burnt out. Then come on with a bucket of sand. Bizarre when a member of the coaching staff came on and did their job for them while they all stood and watched.

His incompetence has reached near genius level. He probably still thinks Beesley got the second and he confused Yates with Dale.......twice!

I am glad it was not just me. I found his commentary actually detrimental to watching the match. Is there anyone who listens to the commentary that has not had enough of his much repeated eulogy of the offside law?

Lets concentrate on the goal and how well Dale did...the fans are there for a nothing game and can be applauded for that....no need to make a feature of it and make a mountain out of a molehill.
It is a mountain. There are a small minority of absolute tvvats that are mouthy embarrassing cnuts

One of these absolute c0cks got right in my face before the game as I was going for some food at a local shop......'aaaagggghhh your shit and your going down.....** shit team'.......
I stood for a second, not believing that fuckwits like this lad (about 22 years old) still existed.... I am 54 and was with my brother, brother in law and his 15yo son....so not looking for any agg.....just a pie ...

He was very brave with his mates behind him until I told him to fuck off....in no uncertain terms. I also added I was from Blackpool to which he apologised.....

The main point to this is that these cnuts are the face of our club that people remember......in this case a fat spotty ugly one with bad breath...

Yet you'll spend hours on here arguing with people that can. Strange. But then you do like arguing anything and everyone regardless of the topic.

Chisnall is a TERRIBLE commentator and was indeed always an ally to the Oyston's on air despite the fans feelings. People don't forget these things.

You misunderstand me. I don't disect the man to that level because we're only talking about a football commentator. As I said above, I find that level of anger to be unwarranted. I also think it's unhealthy to continue bearing grudges in terms of the previous owners. They've gone, we've moved on and that's it.

I do think his tone and comments last night about the flares were all too reminiscent of the “you’ve made your point now GER OFF!!!” rant that remains highly objectionable to many Blackpool supporters. If he chooses to go ringing old bells with the fan base then he will set people off!! It’s his attitude…like he learned nothing whatsoever about how he came across them and has no intention of even acknowledging it might be a problem now.

It’s a zero from Len I’m afraid.

He certainly hasn't hence everyones opinion?

He's out of his depth and shouldn't be doing that job.

It is absolutely acceptable to bear a grudge against a person who backed/sided with a regime that put several true Blackpool fans lives through hell.
