Team for Stevenage

id swap weir for Dembele and have him playing just off the front two causing the lumps that Stevenage will have no end of discomfort. I'd be tempted to give Lyons a run out in place of Dale as well. have norburn sitting relatively deep allow dougs to get forward.

got a feeling that he might bring marv back in for the aerial threat. whether he drops Casey or Pennington is anyone's guess.

Yeah, think we need to find a way for Dembele to be in the starting 11, in the hole between midfield and attack.

Really think that Rhodes, Kouassi and Dembele on the pitch together will cause problems.

I'd have Weir and use Dembele as an impact sub.

Ideally my team but it won't happen:

Grimshaw
Lyons-Pennington-Ekpiteta-Husband
CJ-Dougall-Norburn-Dale
Rhodes-Kouassi

Bench of O’Donnell, Tharme, Lyons, Dembele, Thompson, Carey, Lavery

Into these, it’s Stevenage, not Barca. Three points incoming, up the pool!

I'd go similar to this, but Lyons for Dale and Dembele instead of Weir, I'd normally have gone Dembele and Weir (for Dougall) especially at home but Kenneth has been excellent recently tbf to him.

Grimshaw
Pennington Casey Husband
Dale Norburn Dougall Hamilton
Dembele
Rhodes Kouassi

O'Donnell Lyons Thompson Ekpiteta Weir Morgan Lavery

I'm struggling to find a place on the bench for Connolly and Carey not sure how Critchley sees them as regular starters.

I would expect Dougall to play whatever side Hamilton plays on, he played quite a few balls for Hamilton to run onto
on Saturday.

Grimshaw
Pennington Casey Husband
Hamilton Norburn Dembele Dougall Thompson
Rhodes Kouassi

Subs. O'Donnell Lyons Dale Carey Weir Ekpiteta Lavery (Oakley-Booth if Lyons or Dale aren't ready)

Keeper, Dembele

D, Carey
D, Kouassi
D, Morgan

RWB, Norburn
Mid, Pennington
Mid, Husband
Mid, Rhodes
LWB, Grimshaw

For, Ekpiteta
For, Lyons

We'll piss it😉👍🏻

Oakley Booth should be on the bench following last night’s performance.
it would be interesting to see how he gets on with seasoned pro's because he looked some way beyond comfortable last night, breaks up play really well, basically created the second of KKs goals and put the pass through for the first, i like the way he drives the play forward

At some point he's got to be given an opportunity, does'nt waste much. Critchley should be pushing him hard in training
for a place in the squad.

Critchley shouldn't be pushing him, OB should be showing he's worth a place in the way he trains

Critchley shouldn’t be pushing him nonsense. A Coach should use every means possible to motivate a player. It’s called effecting an attitude. It’s down to both parties to contribute for a performance.

Looking at that midfield, we still lack a bit of height and get the feeling we’re in for an aerial battle today.

Handbrake off today, it’s going to be 3-5-2 so that limits options but Stevenage are going to sit in and make us break them down so we need some creativity.

Grimshaw

Pennington
Casey
Husband

Lyons RWB
Norburn
Dougall
CJ LWB

Dembeme (in the hole at tip of midfield 2)

Kouassi
Rhodes

Gives us options off the bench in Lavery, Weir/Carey & Dale wide and frees up Dembele to go wherever he wants and feed our wide players and 2 centre forwards…

Putting a Critchley head on starting 11 could be

Grimshaw
Pennington Ekpiteta Husband
Hamilton Dougall Norburn Weir Connolly
Beesley Rhodes

I hope he primarily plays to our strengths and doesn't focus too much on how much Stevenage like to play.
