Team for L1

Having a look at what we have available for next season we do have the makings of a decent side for L1. Playing with wing backs it looks ok.

We obviously need to add 6 or 7 to this squad, but it could be a lot worse.

Yates will almost certainly leave. Leaving us with a pretty inexperienced front 6 and injury prone Trybull. We'll need a to strengthen midfield and attack quite a bit to make a strong promotion push, in my opinion. But hopefully will have some Yates cash to help with that.
 
Think we will get offers for Grimshaw, Ekpiteta and Yates.

If we use the funds wisely then we will be competitive.

Looks good but maybe an upgrade on Carey, I like him but I seem to have been defending his selection for some weeks now.
Get that midfield playmaker that we have all been crying out for.
Also Husband ? Still here!

I also like carey, i think in a midfield 3 with him in the attacking role he could be a key man for us in L1. I do agree we need to add a few attacking options but its not the complete squad overhaul that some people have been going on about. Add in a few quality loan players and i would hope we would be fighting towards the top of the table.

Thankfully that will be nowhere near the starting 11.
If we are to sell any of our assets we simple have to have replacements lined up. Not sell them last minute with no chance of bringing anyone in and then bring in some youngster from Leicester or somet and hope for the best. We need to play hard ball IMO. Something we didn’t do with Bowler.

If I were in your shoes I'd delete this post, feel very embarrassed and think before I next post.

Yes let's just scrap our development squad and sign youngsters on loan from other clubs. That's the way forward .
With Yates , Ekpiteta and possibly Grimmy , we can't really stand in their way if they get the opportunity to play in the Championship.
Invest those funds judiciously , feed the development youngsters into the first team setup and have a switched on , positive , forward thinking manager ( Dobbie for me ) and it should be an exciting , cracker of a season .

So you think if we start resorting to the development squad we will get promotion?

Obviously we might not keep some of the above, but I think that squad is comfortable in Lg1.

Strong centre mid, experienced centre back and 2 tricky wingers off a very strong Lg1 squad
 
We need 2 options in most positions IMO. eg. Lyons/Gabriel right back. Thomspon/Husband - although I'd look to get better quality there. Have we given up on Thorniley?

Possibly, you could also say the same for Beesley. If we can keep hold of Yates we have decent striking options with Yates, Lavery, Beesley and Holmes. I would like to see us bring in an experienced striker to replace Madine however.

Along with good management , good scouting , loud n proud fan support absolutely . A home grown youngster has to be an extra 25% on the pitch just due to where they come from and what it means . Bolton , Blackburn ( 12 dev squad players used this season ) , Fleetwood( 17) et al have quite a few of their own dev. squad playing first team football

Hey I hope you are right. We are not exactly known for bringing youth on but hopefully that has changed.

Why drop a league at this stage? Makes no sense for him on any level, I feel. He's likely to be offered more money to play higher than L1.
