Taking the knee

I think we are one of the only clubs still doing this. Coventry certainly had no intention of doing it and the only black player in their first 11 looked shocked that we are still doing it. He eventually acknowledged his appreciation but you have to wonder if it shows a bit of vulnerability and weakness on our part and maybe we are being too nicey nicey . I think it all started with good intention but has now run its course.

I would prefer us to come out guns blazing and up for a fight and I think the atmosphere and pyrotechnics against QPR were a factor in getting the result (Yes I know we took the knee then) Its a shame the club cannot have an amnesty in the five mins before kick off and let all the pyrotechnics off then as it certainly creates a difficult and intimidating atmosphere for the opposition and lifts our crowd.

I am sure its an issue that will split the fanbase and many will disagree with me but nicey nicey isnt getting us the results we require.

You think 2 seconds of half arsed kneeling is causing us to lose?

Not on its own no but I think its a part of a nicey nicey welcoming approach that we seem to have developed. I want Bloomfield Road to be a cauldron of passion and to be frank a little bit unwelcoming for the away team.

That said I still dont understand why we are virtually the only club in the league still taking the knee. Best just right me off as a right wing Nazi for daring to hold a different viewpoint. Also if I were at the club I would encourage the pyrotechnics in the build up and go for a Welcome to Hell approach. I suppose we would risk an efl fine for such behaviour but hey ho if it helps improve our form.

I'm not writing you off fella, it's a valid point.

I’m pretty sure there has been the odd game where we haven’t done it.
I can only assume the other team were kicking off first and they forgot to tell the ref.

I've.no idea why they're doing it, I doubt the players do either.
They obviously have a far better understanding of why they are doing it than you do.

It's time to stop when they want.

I have no idea why people care so much, clearly triggers something in them to moan about it on a forun.

It appears to be club thing now rather than individual - and is recognised by a minority with applause, again, I've no idea why we're different. I didn't start the thread, just commented, a comment which I stand by 👍

If our players decide they want to, it's a good thing. If they want to stop, that's fine too. If you object to it as a fan...have a bite of pie and it'll be over in 5 seconds.

If I 'took the knee' it would take most of the first half to stand up again. 😉
Funny, me too, but only because I twisted my knee three months ago, been icing and using gel, walking up and down stairs one step at a time, eventually I went to the doctor and they referred me to a physio this week, who said I’ve injured my medial ligament, going to be a while apparently.

In my mind, I could still play better as a combative midfielder than most of our current players.
Due to football related injuries including 4 cartilage operations & 2 split discs, in reality I'd struggle to reach the net with a penalty 🤪
