Squad for next season.

Assuming that the players that have been offered contract renewals do take their offers, this is what the squad is currently looking like for next season.

GK: Maxwell
GK: Moore

CB: Gretarsson
CB: Ekpiteta
CB: Husband
CB: Thorniley

LB: Garbutt

CM: Stewart
CM: Dougall
CM: Ward
CM: Virtue
CM: Antwi

AM: Anderson
WG: Hamilton
WG: Mitchell
WG: Shaw

ST: Yates
ST: Madine

Looking at that squad, we’re going to need to sign at least 5 players for the starting 11, and probably another 5 as squad players.
For the starting 11, Ballard and Simms would be quality additions. Then we’d need another right back, box to box midfielder, creative midfielder and left winger.
After that, for cover we’d need a RB, LB, couple of wingers, creative midfielder and perhaps a striker.

Big, exciting transfer window ahead.

Attacking midfielder
Left winger

Agree. We’re also going to need to sign a couple of quality playmakers. Lost a lot with Kaikai and Embleton leaving.

Man's done nothing to show any real quality consistently and not featured all season. I wanted him to do well but don't think we should be wasting any more time and precious opportunity to win games playing him.

That would be a huge, huge shock if Nuttall plays for us in the Championship. If he's improved that drastically behind the scenes then fair enough, but I would be extremely surprised if it happens.

He'll be sent out on loan again I reckon.

If we’re being realistic a good run of starts in league 2 would be ideal for him at this point.
 
The manager and the rest of the staff that deal in transfers will have a plan which will have the sole aim of making the team stronger. I think that is normal at most clubs but it will take a little while for our fans to get used to it!

Thought we were limited to a squad of 25? Is that right?
 
Players wear kit these days that provide a lot of data regarding training, movement, hotspot areas, this makes for a lot of interesting information about a players contribution throughout their season. Kind of makes decisions about players leaving effectively nailed on if its clear the return isn't showing in a positive light.
 
Every season most clubs are in the same situation.
Remember the Premiership season when we were woefully short days before KO.
Thankfully those days of late bargains , crocks and troubled players are over.

They have a list of players and am sure they are potential gems. The squad will be much stronger next season. Of course the loan market will be used and who had heard of Simms or Ballard last year? Plenty of talent out there if they do not return.
