season over , yes or no ?????

We are still only 3 points off the play offs . . . of course its not over.

No real fan would throw the towel in at this stage of the season.
If anyone is going to throw the towel in, I hope they don’t ask any of our strikers to throw it in the goal.

Never really got started did it? I struggle to see what others do we’ve been poor all season and struggled with just about everyone not just those in and around the top six. We never get as much as a point at derby and will fall further behind it was over a long time ago and we won’t be in the running next year under the current setup

Was never on for me said at the start of the season we would finish 9th/10th and the way things are going I’m going to be pretty much spot on.

Think ourselves lucky we’re not going to be in the playoffs as we would be murdered.
Why would we be "murdered" in the play offs? We've held our own against the top sides. Smells of overreaction to me.... well the site stinks of it tonight as per after a loss.

Mathematically it might not be over, but our away form says otherwise. It's not just recent games, it goes back much further, to the likes of Port Vale and Burton.
We play too safe, far too often, Oh and our "forwards" have forgotten where the net is and don't get me started on Critchleys stubbornness and lack of insight to change things.

Four of our guaranteed starters in Rhodes, Byers, Dembele and Coulson are all loaness, we need to start planning now for next season. Keep Grimshaw, sort Marv out with a new contract. Along with Pennington and Casey, we've got the makings of a decent defence.
Clarke-Harris at Peterborough can't even get in their starting eleven at the moment, I'd be approaching them to try to get him tied down to a pre-contract with us for next season and pair him with Rhodes (if he'd come on a permanent deal) or Joseph.

No matter what, Critchley will be here next season, Simon Sadler said so in his recent interview, "If he doesn't get promotion this season, he'll just have to do it next season".

Might have a chance of getting Byers back Marv is going to a championship club Rhodes is too injury prone and Sadler won’t sack Neil until the end of this year

Of course is’s not … we have some winnable games at home, can’t ask for a better run of games than Wycombe, Cambridge,Fleetwood at home then away to (already relegated by then) Carlisle ! Still all to play for 😁

Course the season's not over, although I really think we're way short of a push for the Championship.
There'll be further disappoment and possibly one or two pleasant surprises, although there appear to be a couple of more consistent teams in the mix for sixth
I only hope there's enough commitment and shrewd business done in summer to put us in a stronger position to allow us to probably, rather than possibly, go up next season
This is never the Blackpool way, however.

Winnable but only Wycombe will have nothing to fight for. Carlisle are a lost cause but will be playing for pride. The others, Fleetwood, Cambridge and Reading will be fighting like crazy to stay up. Derby and Barnsley are in the promotion battles. Tough games.
I can see us getting 12 points or so. Maybe 15 if we find some kind of form and play the right tactics.

7 games and 21 points to play for, so very much still alive. Those 7 games are crucial in quite a few different ways. For the manager, any position lower than 6th is failure. If we were to drop as low as 10th then his position needs to be under review. For the players it will show how much fight and ability they have, in some instances they will be the last 7 games they'll be involved in for Blackpool. In terms of the owner it'll result in sizeable investment if we were to snatch 6th place and smuggle our way into the Championship. If not, the squad will need rebuilding for L1. As for the supporters, those 7 games will either take us into the summer with positivity or divided and questioning the clubs ambitions. We cannot afford many more limp displays like that at Wigan. I'd say the support is very much sat on the fence and how we perform will tip the balance.

Season isn’t over . Players looked tired on Saturday .
Next couple of weeks rest and recover and then we’ll be back on it .
We’ll get to the play off final.
Tired! Respect your loyalty but that's the weakest excuse for such an abject performance.
Wigan played away at Wycombe last Tuesday.
First 20 mins we handed them the momentum on a plate then spent the remainder of the game playing back to Grimshaw.
Think us fans are more tired 🤬

Week before Saturday we played top of the league Portsmouth with 10 men and battled a draw.

On Tuesday we schlep to Northampton and win.

Wigan lost against Wycombe and they were crap at home against us.

This international break has come at the perfect time for us.

To be fair Angel you're one of the more positive posters I use as a pick me up after yet another toothless away defeat but professional sportsmen, even if feeling a bit of fatigue should be able to product a more urgent display than Saturday. Numerous other threads about Critchley, formation etc. Just been a frustrating season full stop.

Ridiculous to say it's over and at points this season if you'd offered me the current scenario with the games left I'd have snapped your hand off.

There's still a chance, but cannot see it happening the way critchley is setting up the team at the moment. There is absolutely nothing to lose now in just going all out for it. It's an extended cup final and we are two nil down with 15 minutes to go

When we went up under McMahon we lost 18.
Something of a selective comparison, don't you think, Wiz?

For all the foibles that were an evident part of his approach/character, it has to be said that with McMahon at the helm, for all the fixtures we lost, he did manage to produce his share of outstanding displays, which culminated in either victory or a share of the points. Under Critchley, this time round, we've been either shambolic, or, at best, what you might rather charirably refer to as, just 'so-so'.

Beating Bolton 4 1 and Pompey 4 0 is 'so so'. Very charitable😉🤣

Time has given the 2000/01 squad a rose tinted view. Barnet 7 Pool 0 wasn't a great display and neither were the many other defeats.

Brett and big John Murphy up front were better than we are now and Wellens in midfield had more creativity in his little finger than any of our current crop!

I have a very confidence we will lose in the playoffs
Are you not being a tad presumptuous there in even daring to suggest we will actually make the play-offs!?

I would love for you to give us all a quick run-down on how, exactly, you arrived at this rather fanciful conclusion?

I think you will find that 13 points from 6 games is play off form. Is that a quick enough rundown for you all?

Talking of limp displays, we've had more this season than any I can recall.

Mathematically the season is a long way from dead, but practically with only one play off place achievable and Lincoln flying and us often struggling it is definitely on life support.

Ages to go. Looking at the table if we get 2 wins in 3 the whole picture can change. Problem is we are up and down.

There is no way that any Blackpool fan can say any remaining games are dead rubbers.
