The Masked Singer
Scour Netflix for a film

Not exactly a Rock N Roll life at the moment. 😂

Off to the Dales for the night away 👍
Lovely wintry sunshine weather and fresh air. What’s not to like 💁‍♀️☺️

Can I come? It sounds perfect. I’ve got to go and make lunch for my 97 year old mum, sit there and shout a few things at her, as she’s quire deaf, but mainly just sit there for 2 or 3 hours in silence before I go home, a nice little 80 mile round trip I do every Saturday.

Back home I will do some design work as there’s no match then maybe go to the pub for a couple of hours with the missus early doors then get a takeaway curry and listen to music or watch something. Saturdays without football are a bit shit really.

10 am, breakfast in The Bull, then drive to Tankersley , check in to the Premier Inn and grab a quick bite to eat . 3:30 pm, head off to The Coach and Horses in Chapeltown for my Bike Club AGM , and while I’m there I may partake in a beverage or 12 , that should see my Saturday out . Have a stress free day guys and gals !

Your Mum might not say much Herts, but it’s lovely that you do that every week.

This is going to sound bad, I find it really difficult as I can’t communicate very well and she has nothing to talk about. She’s incredibly well for her age, although she has noticeably got worse in the last 12 months and I’ve never really been that close to her, whereas I was best friends with my dad.

It means I lose every weekend because I have to work on Sundays, from home fortunately, doing paperwork and planning for forthcoming jobs. Saturday is my only day off.

Totally cocked up my day with the match being postponed. A bit of pottering I guess, get a few jobs done.

It’s not bad Herts. It’s families and the bond that glues us together regardless. Sounds like you should create some down time for yourself though at some point.

Monster trucks live in Liverpool surrounded by kids and no football to look forward to afterwards!

We are going for our morning dog walk on the gala field Bispham. Then Brunch. After that I’ll probably have the radio on for the football whilst watching the snooker on silent. I’ll be cheering on Blackburn, Sheffield Utd, Middlesbrough and Peterborough….edit I meant Cov C

97, living in her own place, well,

sighted? mobile? sociable?

‘I’ve got to go and make lunch’
’She has nothing to talk about’
’I’ve never really been that close to her’
’I lose every weekend’

Generally speaking, the western world is pretty shit at caring for it’s older generations.

Bad? No. You are doing your bit.

Ballsed my plans for today. So I’ve been and filled car with petrol. Been to Tesco got stuff put away. Cleaned up. Making a bacon butty now then watch footy all day and nice take away for tea.

Will spend some time with my wife and little one. Will keep an eye on the other championship scores later. It’s january in Moscow region, so whatever the weather does, at least it’s dramatic and something to watch! It’s gone from -22 to +3 within 24 hours this week. 🙃 Mental. Proper windy now, with sporadic sun teasing us through the clouds. Can’t even remember what non-winter conditions feel like.

Got to go to IKEA (meh) so I'm going to go for a walk on chat moss on the way to soften the blow and get there later on this making the living hell a bit less hellish.

Idle curiosity on my part but how come you’ve ended up ‘living’ ? in the Moscow region

Off to Mcr after a lunchtime pint with a few others at a loose end.

Blinders playing at Night & Day tonight for EP launch. Guest list sorted. Last train home. Can’t see a flaw in the plan at all.

It's 7.00pm here (GMT +8).

Been watching Cricket all day while testing more alcohol free beers, going to watch City game followed by PKE, while supporting Birmingham for 90 mins.

...been a very chilled out day so far 👍

A walk and then a game of non league football this afternoon. Just assessing the options. Then meeting up with my wife’s family later.

Walked into town (Poulton) for Lottery ticket back at 09.45.
Swept the front drive etc. Did the ironing, not much today. I always do the ironing, MrsDP does everything else.😃
Now on here believe it or not.😉
Watch a match after lunch and all afternoon.
MrsDP is very good, during the week the main TV is hers, weekends it's mine.
We've actually got 3 TVs so the option is always there, lounge, bedroom & dining room.
We don't argue, life is blissful.🤪

You're just an irrelevant arse wipe who has no idea what goes into looking after a very elderly relative so that she has independence.

She's not mobile, she can't be sociable because she can't hear very well and I haven't ever been close to her and I have my reasons for that and it is a common thing. She is never alone has company 7 days a week without fail and she would die if she went into a home as she hates the idea and is capable of living at home with the procedures we have put in place. I take her to every hospital, doctors appointments of which there are many and speak to her every night on the phone, which isn't easy for obvious reasons. Organise all her shopping, her financials, everything so you can take your comments and stick them where the sun don't shine you piece of shit!

You only get one mum Herts & she'll not be here forever. I miss mine every day.

I now hate Barnsley FC 😫
I'll now have to do my weight training in the freezing cold garage (my old joints don't like it much) with no Pool game to listen to. I can't listen to Lancs when we're not on, so I'll train early and then watch the boring TV.
I hate Barnsley FC but will always love BFC 😍

Going to take the opportunity to watch my local side in action in action in the NPL Premier League Midlands Division. The formidable, top of the table Ilkeston Town are playing Sutton Coldfield. Standing only, with a pie in one hand, a beer in the other, and a fag in me mouth. Proper 7th tier ground.

Must say Graves I was intrigued by your post
What's it like living in Moscow, do you speak Russian and what do you do ?
Distant relative worked for ICI in 60 and 70's and worked in the old USSR a lot since great stories

WELL SAID!! It’s all consuming looking after someone who is 97 (and he’s constantly on my mind) but I promised my dad that I will always do so that he can remain in his own home where he wants to be. Wish I had some support from my sister but she’s completely ‘opted out.’

Uncalled for.

Interesting stuff. I’m also from Bispham btw.

Yes, I do speak Russian. Always wanted to learn it and the history and culture here fascinated me. I’m teaching in a Russian school out here mate. USSR is certainly interesting to learn about. Would recommend Russia to anyone to visit.

I would imagine Russian is an extremely difficult language to learn. How the heck do you cope with temperatures of -22!
