There have been some a couple of weeks ago saying if we keep Critchley we go up as champions and now some are saying we’re getting relegated….Football….it’s a funny, fickle worldIf only Sadler had realised last season it's never too soon to sack a manager.
I wrote at the end of August when we got beat 1-0 by Blackburn that if he didn't sack him, we'd go down.
In fairness he had been in charge since 2022. In NC case it's twenty past eight..Lee Johnson potted by Hibs today as well.
Who says it too early to pot managers.
Then what happens if the next manager has a poor start after 5 games? In fairness he had been in charge since 2022. In NC case it's twenty past eight..
Having said that, this can't go on and I'd pot.
First you reform the Meanley Warriors and kidnap all connected with hiring a new manager, and hey presto! You have a chance. Then what happens if the next manager has a poor start after 5 games?
You just keep sacking them? Get's expensive that doesn't it?
Or does it just apply to Critchley and say, Dobbie would be given lots more time in your BFC?
This is what worries me, if the fans (I'm not singling out fcblackpool here, btw) got their way, we'd have a new manager every 6 games. Then what happens if the next manager has a poor start after 5 games?

Maybe if we hadnt sacked him we would have stayed up?! Mick was worse! If only Sadler had realised last season it's never too soon to sack a manager.

It's 100% people seeing their arse because Dobbie wasn't given the job, how dare the chairman not go with their wishes. This is what worries me, if the fans (I'm not singling out fcblackpool here, btw) got their way, we'd have a new manager every 6 games.
We can't keep doing this, especially when not one of us have the slightest confidence in the board hiring the right man as soon as the last one is out the door.
Talk of binning someone after 5 games and 1 defeat is ludicrous, no matter who the manager is. Unless we're in a relegation battle after 25/30 games, he has to stay and be given time to work something out.
Like binning 352 for starters.
No I don't think it's that. I think it's fans having watched the Dobbie team - after the shit served up by Appleton and McCarthy - then watched the Critchley team and deciding that they preferred what Dobbie served up. As simple as that. No politics, no agenda, just good football. It's 100% people seeing their arse because Dobbie wasn't given the job, how dare the chairman not go with their wishes.
If Dobbie had this start there'd be pleas for patience from the same group.
Nah, it's toy throwing. No I don't think it's that. Did he ever admit to getting Appleton/McCarthy wrong?Simon isn’t going to sack NC, to do so would be to admit he got it wrong. That doesn’t mean he won’t be having a word in his ear to sort it out.
Thanks. This is what worries me, if the fans (I'm not singling out fcblackpool here, btw) got their way, we'd have a new manager every 6 games.

Wow. Aren’t you clever! If only Sadler had realised last season it's never too soon to sack a manager.
I wrote at the end of August when we got beat 1-0 by Blackburn that if he didn't sack him, we'd go down.
No, but this is yet another possible mistake.Did he ever admit to getting Appleton/McCarthy wrong?
No fans proved bright amid their failure to threaten season ticket boycotts.Wow. Aren’t you clever!
‘Not sure’ ?I think it’s a bit of both .
Dobbie exploited the attacking quality we had at the time and it sort of worked .
I’m not sure Critch has that type of quality available to him.
You’re absolutely right. A business with zero income is going to spend massively to appease the people not spending with the business…No fans proved bright amid their failure to threaten season ticket boycotts.
A threat last year could have prevented Appleton's rehire.
One this summer might have averted Critch's return and ensured quality buys.

You are sick.You are thick
Fair point but with all of the parties involved in recruitment these days, do you think we're looking at players who have obvious talent or players who suit Critchley's formation?I think it’s a bit of both .

Obviously not.Was Holloway sacked after his first five games?
You see my point. 4 draws 1 win, 1 loss in his opening 6 games wasn’t it? Our results are currently the same. Bar one draw.Obviously not.
When CJ and CC always seem to be the answer ahead of good technical players you have to wonder if he will ever drop those two.Hope to god we get some reinforcements before the window closes and things start clicking.
In order to play critchley style of football you need super talentFair point but with all of the parties involved in recruitment these days, do you think we're looking at players who have obvious talent or players who suit Critchley's formation?
A voice of reason SS1The reality is it takes time.
You do not inherit a team (albeit one you did help build) that has been relegated and make them winners over night.
Unless we are bottom four in March next year or after he has at least until Xmas 2024 for me and maybe even the end of that season.
People expect to much to quick these days -
Netflix is not real life.
Let’s be clear, SS is funding the club and not stripping it like the last lot!!!
ChinaOh just maybe he wants to get sacked, off to China with SG not as his number 2 but in some coaching role, probably 5x his BFC wage too.
That wait strategy worked last season. The reality is it takes time.

It worked last time NC was hereThat wait strategy worked last season.
Exactly. Critch will be given time. SS gave him time when fans were calling for his head. He went on to get us promoted. It worked last time NC was here
He's dedicated to his bank account like everyone else.Exactly. Critch will be given time. SS gave him time when fans were calling for his head. He went on to get us promoted.
Critch wont be going anywhere soon. He is dedicated and committed to our football club. He deserves our patience.
Yea of course and the football club. He's dedicated to his bank account like everyone else.
Serious question, what makes you say he's dedicated to the football club?Yea of course and the football club.
